Who asks for an NOC, and what they check
Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 does not make an NOC a condition for changing jobs. The law sets notice rules instead. Some employers, free zones, banks and embassies still ask for one, and each sets what it needs. Embassy visa checklists usually ask for the company's address and phone number, the signatory's name and position, and the employee's position, salary, years of employment and approved leave. For part-time work, MOHRE issues a separate work permit, and MOHRE or the second employer may ask for your main employer's consent.
This tool produces templates for general guidance. It is not legal advice. Check the final wording with your HR team, and for contracts with MOHRE (600 590 000) or a UAE employment lawyer.
Frequently asked questions
What is an NOC letter in the UAE?
A no objection certificate is a letter in which the employer confirms that it does not object to something the employee wants to do, such as travel, open a bank account or take part-time work. It usually also confirms the employee's job and joining date.
Do I need an NOC from my employer to change jobs?
Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 and its Executive Regulation contain no NOC requirement for moving to a new employer. The rules are about notice: 30 to 90 days under the contract (Article 43), or during probation at least one month's notice when moving to another UAE employer (Article 9). Some employers and free zones still ask for an NOC, which is why the generator offers one.
What should a visa NOC for an embassy include?
Embassy checklists for UAE residents usually ask for a letter on company letterhead with a stamp, signature and date. It should give the company's address and phone number, the name and position of the person signing, and the employee's name, position, salary, start date and approved leave dates. Requirements vary by country, so check your consulate's or visa centre's checklist.
Can I work part-time for another company while employed?
Only with the right permit. The employer must not let its worker work for others except as the law allows (Article 13(10)), and part-time work needs a work permit from MOHRE. MOHRE or the new part-time employer may ask for a letter from your main employer. The part-time NOC records that consent.
Is an NOC enough for a bank loan?
Usually not. For loans and credit cards, banks normally ask for a salary certificate or a salary transfer letter on their own form. An NOC is more common for opening an account. Ask the bank what it needs.
Do you store what I type?
No. Your details are sent to our server only to build the preview and the DOCX or PDF file, and the letter is returned straight to your browser. Nothing is saved, logged or used for anything else, and you do not need an account.
