What the law requires
At the end of the contract, the employer must give the worker an experience certificate free of charge on request. It must state the start and end dates, the total length of service, the job title or type of work, the last wage and the reason the contract ended. It must not include anything that could harm the worker's reputation or job prospects (Article 13(11)). That is why this tool has no free-text comments on conduct.

Is my employer required to give me an experience certificate?
Yes. Article 13(11) of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 requires the employer, at the worker's request when the contract ends, to give a certificate of experience without any fee.
What must a UAE experience certificate include?
The date work started, the date it ended, the total length of service, the job title or type of work, the last wage and the reason the contract ended (Article 13(11)).
Can an experience certificate include negative remarks?
No. The law says the certificate must not contain anything that could harm the worker's reputation or limit their chances of finding a new job.
How is the total length of service counted?
The generator counts from the first day to the last day worked, both included, so 1 March 2021 to 29 February 2024 is exactly 3 years. If unpaid leave should not count, adjust the dates or wording before you sign.
Can I issue one to someone who still works here?
Yes. Choose "Still employed". The certificate then gives the service to the date of the letter and leaves out the reason for leaving.
Do you store what I type?
No. Your details are sent to our server only to build the preview and the DOCX or PDF file, and the letter is returned straight to your browser. Nothing is saved, logged or used for anything else, and you do not need an account.
