IBM Power (PowerVM, AIX, PowerVC and PowerSC) Expert

We’re Hiring: IBM Power (PowerVM, AIX, PowerVC & PowerSC) Expert Location: Oman Work Mode: Onsite Experience: 7+ Years PURPOSE OF THE ROLE To administer, maintain, and support IBM Power infrastructure running critical application and database workloads for a large-scale financial management system, ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performance operations. KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide technical support to application and database teams to ensure smooth system operations. • Diagnose and resolve technical issues across IBM Power infrastructure. • Monitor system performance, including CPU, memory, network, and storage utilization, using appropriate monitoring tools. • Install updates, patches, and security fixes to maintain system stability and security. • Perform routine maintenance, system upgrades, hardware replacements, and infrastructure enhancements. • Administer and maintain IBM Power technologies, including PowerVM, AIX, VIOS, PowerSC, PowerVC, and Hardware Management Console (HMC). • Support Live Partition Mobility (LPM), VM Recovery Manager, PEP 2.0, and workload migration activities. • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, changes, maintenance activities, and operational procedures. • Prepare and present regular reports on incidents, system performance, and infrastructure improvements to stakeholders and management. REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in IBM Power systems administration and infrastructure support. • Hands-on expertise in: • AIX and VIOS • IBM PowerVM • PowerSC and PowerVC • Hardware Management Console (HMC) • PEP 2.0 • Live Partition Mobility (LPM) • VM Recovery Manager • Workload migration • IBM Power Server certification. • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
