About the role Position Title: Consultant - Surface Facility – Production Assurance Work Location: Kuwait Department: On-sync Energy Management Services Company. Job Responsibilities • Optimize the integrated production system by balancing well deliverability with surface processing capacity and constraints. • Identify and eliminate surface bottlenecks to increase hydrocarbon throughput and reduce production backpressure. • Develop, maintain, and analyze integrated surface network models to evaluate fluid flow, pressure drops, and thermal behavior across gathering and production facilities. • Provide engineering support for facility modifications, equipment sizing, and debottlenecking projects, including changes in water cut and gas-to-oil ratio. • Design, audit, and optimize chemical injection programs for scale, corrosion, asphaltene, hydrate, emulsion, and biological control. • Diagnose and resolve complex flow assurance issues, including emulsions, foaming, scaling, wax deposition, and other production restrictions. • Manage chemical service providers, establish performance and cost-efficiency KPIs, and oversee laboratory fluid analysis, including PVT, water chemistry, and crude characterization. • Monitor and mitigate internal corrosion and erosion risks in pipelines and surface processing equipment. • Conduct technical assessments and provide recommendations to improve production efficiency, facility reliability, and asset uptime. • Use production surveillance and real-time operational data to identify performance issues and optimize flow efficiency. • Support multidisciplinary teams on production optimization, flow assurance, surface facility performance, and technical troubleshooting. Qualification Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. • Master’s degree or PhD is preferred. • Minimum 15 years of direct experience in upstream Oil & Gas, with strong experience in surface facilities, production operations, flow assurance, and facility engineering. • Advanced hands-on experience with industry-standard process and network modeling software such as HYSYS, PIPESIM, GAP, or OLGA. • Proven experience in chemical injection system optimization and auditing, water analysis, crude composition assessment, and surface facility bottleneck/pinch-point analysis. • Strong data analytics and production surveillance capabilities, with demonstrated ability to use real-time operational data to improve production efficiency and asset uptime. • Strong understanding of surface production systems, gathering networks, separation, gas compression, water handling, chemical treatment, and asset integrity. • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
