Electrical BIM Engineer

Company: MTEC Electromechanical Works LLC Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Employment Type: Full-time Openings: 3 Minimum Experience: 7+ years of directly relevant experience ABOUT THE ROLE Develop, coordinate and manage electrical BIM models and construction deliverables, ensuring spatial coordination, information quality and alignment with project BIM requirements and approved engineering. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop and maintain electrical BIM models for power, lighting, containment, earthing, fire alarm and ELV interfaces to the required project LOD/LOI. • Convert approved design/shop-drawing information into coordinated BIM models and ensure model content remains aligned with latest revisions. • Perform multidisciplinary clash detection in Navisworks/coordination platforms and manage electrical clash resolution with mechanical, architectural and structural teams. • Produce coordinated plans, sections, details, builders-work/opening information, schedules and model-derived drawings for technical approval and site use. • Participate in BIM coordination meetings and maintain clash/action registers, issue tracking and model federation workflows. • Apply project BIM Execution Plan requirements including naming, coordinates, model segmentation, worksets, parameters, data standards and CDE workflows. • Coordinate electrical equipment spaces, cable routes, containment zones, ceiling services and maintenance/access requirements with other disciplines. • Support quantity extraction/model-based reporting where required and assist site teams with model-based coordination and RFIs. • Update models for approved changes and support preparation of accurate as-built/record models for handover. • Perform model QA checks and support standardization of BIM families, templates and electrical modelling practices. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. • Minimum 7 years of electrical BIM/MEP coordination experience on construction projects. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification. • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP and Navisworks Manage; AutoCAD proficiency required. • Working knowledge of BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud, CDE workflows and clash-management processes is preferred. • Strong understanding of electrical systems and construction coordination, not only modelling. • UAE/GCC experience on high-rise, residential, hospitality or large building projects is strongly preferred. • Knowledge of BIM standards, LOD/LOI and ISO 19650 concepts is an advantage.
