Mechanical BIM Engineer

Company: MTEC Electromechanical Works LLC Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Employment Type: Full-time Openings: 3 Minimum Experience: 7+ years of directly relevant experience ABOUT THE ROLE Develop, coordinate and manage mechanical BIM models for HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire-fighting systems, ensuring buildable spatial coordination and accurate construction information. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop and maintain mechanical BIM models for HVAC, CHW, plumbing, drainage and fire-fighting systems to the required project LOD/LOI. • Ensure models reflect approved design/shop-drawing information and current revisions and are suitable for coordinated drawing production. • Perform clash detection and lead resolution of mechanical clashes with electrical, architecture, structure, façade and ceiling systems. • Produce coordinated layouts, sections, plantroom details, builders-work/opening information, schedules and fabrication/construction outputs as required. • Participate in BIM coordination meetings and maintain clash/action registers and issue tracking through closure. • Apply the BIM Execution Plan, model naming, coordinates, segmentation, worksets, parameters and common-data-environment requirements. • Coordinate plantroom access, shafts, risers, ceiling zones, valve/access locations, drainage gradients and maintenance clearances. • Support model-based quantity extraction and site coordination and respond to installation/RFI feedback through approved model updates. • Update models for approved changes and prepare accurate as-built/record models for project handover. • Perform model QA checks and support standardization of mechanical BIM families, templates and modelling practices. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. • Minimum 7 years of mechanical BIM/MEP coordination experience on construction projects. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification. • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP and Navisworks Manage; AutoCAD proficiency required. • Working knowledge of BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud, CDE workflows and clash-management processes is preferred. • Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire-fighting constructability, not only modelling. • UAE/GCC experience on high-rise, residential, hospitality or major building projects is strongly preferred. • Knowledge of BIM standards, LOD/LOI and ISO 19650 concepts is an advantage Show more Show less
