Electrical Project Engineer

Company: MTEC Electromechanical Works LLC Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Employment Type: Full-time Openings: 4 Minimum Experience: 7+ years of directly relevant experience ABOUT THE ROLE Manage assigned electrical work packages from approved drawings through installation, inspection, testing, energization and handover while controlling progress, manpower, materials, quality and interfaces. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Plan daily and weekly execution for containment, cabling, panels, lighting, power, earthing, fire alarm and/or ELV interfaces and coordinate resources required. • Review approved shop drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs before work starts and brief supervisors/foremen on execution requirements. • Coordinate electrical works with mechanical, civil, architecture, ceilings, façade and specialist systems and resolve access/sequence constraints. • Monitor productivity and completed quantities against look-ahead targets and initiate recovery actions where progress is behind plan. • Raise WIRs/MIRs and testing requests and ensure inspection comments, punch items and NCRs are closed promptly. • Track cables, panels, lighting fixtures, containment and other materials from requirement through delivery, storage and installation. • Prepare RFIs/site queries and coordinate technical responses and approved changes with technical/BIM teams. • Supervise subcontractors and direct labour and enforce approved RAMS, permits and electrical safety controls. • Support cable testing, panel checks, energization, functional testing and commissioning and maintain records for handover. • Maintain red-line drawings, daily reports, progress evidence and quantity records to support billing and variation substantiation. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. • Minimum 7 years of relevant electrical MEP project/site experience. • Strong practical knowledge of LV distribution, containment, cabling, lighting, small power, earthing and ELV interfaces. • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, specifications, BOQs and method statements. • Experience with WIR/MIR processes, material control, subcontractor coordination and progress reporting. • UAE/GCC building-project experience is strongly preferred. • AutoCAD and strong MS Office skills; Revit/BIM familiarity is an advantage. • Strong site coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
