Job Description Job Title: Senior Recovery CounselorGeneral Job Description:The Senior Recovery Counselor supports treatment plans as part of a multidisciplinary team by delivering the 12-Step Program and relapse prevention programs. They provide guidance during difficult periods that patients may experience, which could interfere with their commitment to the treatment plan. They must serve as a role model in recovery and make their recovery experience available for the benefit of others. They also provide support, guidance, and training to Recovery Coaches and Assistant Recovery Coaches on how to deliver specialized recovery coaching programs.Specialized Duties:1. Support patients throughout all stages of recovery, from abstinence to sustained recovery, using the 12-Step approach after obtaining approval from the Addiction Counselor.2. Provide practical advice to help individuals manage cravings, avoid triggers, and overcome recovery challenges.3. Assist individuals in maintaining their recovery goals through follow-up, tracking progress, and identifying obstacles they encounter during their recovery tasks.4. Participate in leading 12-Step Program meetings within the center.5. Serve as a role model for individuals in recovery, providing a realistic perspective on what can be achieved through recovery while offering motivation and hope.6. Introduce patients to support groups or other recovery communities and assist individuals in building relationships with others.7. Conduct regular individual 12-Step sessions throughout the treatment period under the supervision of the Senior Recovery Counselor.8. Educate patients and their families about the 12-Step approach under the supervision of the Senior Recovery Counselor.9. Learn how to manage patient relapse situations without compromising personal recovery, under the supervision of the Senior Recovery Counselor.10. Participate in recreational and educational group activities for patients within the center.11. Participate in awareness, community, and educational activities both inside and outside the center.12. Work with the multidisciplinary team to assess the needs of patients with addiction and develop treatment plans appropriate to their needs under the supervision of the Senior Recovery Counselor. Qualifications Educational Qualifications:· A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in any discipline is required; a Bachelor's degree in Addiction Counseling or a related field is preferred.· Completion of at least 360 training hours in the field of addiction.Work Experience:· Experience in an addiction treatment center, with no less than five years of experience as a Recovery Counselor.· Completion of the Twelve Steps of the 12-Step Program.· A minimum of seven years of continuous recovery.
