Lead Estimator

Lead Estimator | Infrastructure projects | Dubai, UAE A leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join its Dubai-based team. This is a key position responsible for leading the estimating function on major utilities, infrastructure, and civil engineering projects, providing accurate cost estimates, commercial analysis, and strategic tender support. The successful candidate will also play an important role in mentoring and managing a team of estimators while contributing to the successful delivery of high-value bids across the UAE. Key Responsibilities • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for infrastructure and civil engineering projects. • Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documentation to identify project requirements, risks, and opportunities. • Conduct commercial and technical analysis to develop competitive and accurate pricing strategies. • Gather and analyse data from proposals, specifications, subcontractor quotations, and site investigations. • Produce estimating reports and recommendations for senior management review. • Maintain and manage pricing databases and benchmarking information using estimating software. • Undertake site visits as required to develop a comprehensive understanding of project scope and construction methodologies. • Collaborate closely with operational, commercial, and technical teams during the bid process. • Lead, mentor, and develop junior estimators to ensure consistency and quality across tender submissions. Ideal Background • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. • Minimum 10 years' estimating experience within civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure construction. • Strong proficiency in CCS Candy and other estimating software. • Proven experience estimating complex infrastructure and utility projects within a contractor environment. • Previous experience managing or leading an estimating team. • Strong understanding of UAE construction costs, procurement practices, contracts, and market conditions. • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. • Fluent English communication skills are essential. Additional languages such as Arabic or French would be advantageous. • Knowledge of pavement, asphalt, or associated civil infrastructure works would be beneficial.
