Specialist - Core Banking and Payments Systems

Job Purpose: The candidate must be a fit for any of the following three purposes as per the bank’s requirements: Equation / TCS – BaNCs: Specialist – Equation / TCS BaNCs Core Banking Systems is responsible for the support, maintenance, and enhancement of the Equation Core Banking platform, ensuring reliable, secure, and compliant services across CIF, CASA, Deposits, Loans, Payments, Cheque Processing, Limits & Collateral, and General Ledger. The role provides functional and technical expertise, supports project delivery, and ensures effective integration with enterprise banking systems. Payments: The Specialist - Payments Systems is responsible for the support, maintenance, and enhancement of the bank's Payments and Funds Transfer systems, ensuring secure, efficient, and compliant processing across SWIFT, RTGS, ACH, Instant Payments, and Remittances. The role provides technical and functional expertise, supports day-to-day operations, and works closely with business and technology teams to maintain service stability and support change initiatives. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Equation / TCS – BaNCs: • Provide functional and technical support for the Equation / TCS BaNCs Core Banking platform and related business domains. • Support application enhancements, integrations, upgrades, and releases. • Analyze requirements and assist with solution configuration and implementation. • Troubleshoot incidents, defects, and service requests. • Support testing, deployment, and production activities. • Collaborate with business, technology, and vendor teams. • Maintain system documentation and knowledge repositories. • Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and technology standards. Payments: • Support and enhance Payments and Funds Transfer systems. • Monitor system performance, availability, and transaction processing. • Perform incident, problem, change, and release management activities. • Support testing, upgrades, integrations, and regulatory changes. • Ensure compliance with operational, security, and regulatory requirements. • Collaborate with business, operations, vendors, and technology teams. Educational Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline. • Certifications in TCS BaNCs / Finastra Equation, FPM, FB-Teller, or Core Banking technologies / Payments, SWIFT or ISO20022 are an advantage. Experience: Equation / TCS BaNCs: • 8+ years of Banking Technology experience with strong exposure to Core Banking systems, preferably TCS BaNCs with BaNCsLink Teller system / Finastra Equation with FPM, and FB-Teller. • Experience across CIF, CASA, Deposits, Loans, Payments, Cheque Processing, Limits & Collateral, and General Ledger. • Hands-on experience in application support, configuration, testing, integrations, upgrades, and enhancements. • Good understanding of banking operations, regulatory requirements, and application support processes. • Experience working with business users, technical teams, and vendors to deliver and support banking solutions. Payments: • 8+ years of experience in Payments & Funds Transfers Technology. • Hands-on experience with SWIFT, RTGS, ACH/EFT, Instant Payments, Remittances, or Payment Hubs. • Experience in production support, testing, system enhancements, and issue resolution Essential Skills: Equation / TCS BaNCs: • Strong functional and technical knowledge of Equation Core Banking / TCS BaNCs. • Experience in application support, configuration, integrations, and production support. • Understanding of regulatory reporting, compliance, and banking operations. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. • Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills. Payments: • Knowledge of Funds Transfer systems, SWIFT MT/MX messaging, and payment processing. • Experience with PayHub, SafeWatch or similar payment platforms. • Exposure to regional payment schemes such as KNPS, WAMD, TMS/X, Fawri, NPSS, IPS or SARIE. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Desirable • Exposure to Card & Switch Systems (B24, IST/Cortex). • Knowledge of Open Banking and API ecosystems. • Experience with SWIFT and regional payment schemes. • Understanding of Treasury and Trade Finance systems. Competencies: • Strong working knowledge of Finastra Equation / TCS BaNCs and Payments & Funds Transfer Systems. • Good techno-functional understanding of key banking domains. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver within timelines. • Effective collaboration with business, technology and vendor teams. • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills. • Commitment to service excellence, operational stability, and continuous improvement.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
