Senior Mechanical Design Engineer: Your Mission You will oversee mechanical design activities from initial requirements through manufacturing support, working closely with engineering and production teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions. Your key responsibilities will include: • Mechanical Design: Develop and optimise diesel generator sets, customised power packages, baseframes, enclosures, cooling systems and associated mechanical components. • Engineering & Manufacturing: Prepare and validate 3D models, fabrication drawings, mechanical calculations and manufacturing documentation, ensuring designs are practical and production-ready. • CAD/CAM & Process Optimisation: Support CNC/CAM programming, sheet-metal fabrication and nesting optimisation to improve production efficiency and material utilisation. • Exhaust Systems & Validation: Design and optimise exhaust systems and silencers, considering acoustic performance, exhaust flow and backpressure, while supporting testing and quality activities. • Technical Leadership: Coordinate with production and other stakeholders, resolve engineering issues, guide junior designers and drive continuous improvement. Senior Mechanical Design Engineer: Your Profile You are a technically strong, hands-on engineer with a solid understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing constraints and industrial project delivery. You will ideally bring: • Education & Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 8 years of mechanical design experience, including 4–5 years in diesel generator design, generator manufacturing or customised power generation packages. • CAD & Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, with strong capabilities in 3D modelling, fabrication drawings and mechanical calculations. • Manufacturing Expertise: Practical experience with CNC/CAM, sheet-metal fabrication, laser cutting, punching, press-brake bending and design for manufacturing. • Generator Engineering: Strong knowledge of generator package integration, cooling and ventilation systems, exhaust systems and silencer design, including acoustic performance and backpressure considerations. Experience in Oil & Gas, EPC or heavy industrial projects would be an advantage. You are analytical, proactive and solutions-oriented, with the ability to work across teams, solve technical challenges and translate engineering concepts into efficient manufacturing solutions.
