About the role
JOB PURPOSE: Lead Oman Air’s corporate strategy, integrated business planning, enterprise performance management, transformation oversight and corporate communications. Translate the Chief Executive Officer’s strategic direction into clear priorities, measurable plans, accountable delivery and consistent corporate messaging for employees, the Board, shareholders, government stakeholders, media and other relevant parties. The role acts as Oman Air’s enterprise strategy and communications control tower. The position coordinates, challenges and reports performance without displacing the delegated authority or operational accountability of business-unit leaders, Finance or independent control functions. 1. Corporate Strategy & Integrated Business Planning • Lead the development, refresh and implementation of Oman Air’s corporate strategy in alignment with shareholder expectations, national aviation priorities and the airline’s long-term objectives. • Translate strategic priorities into the annual corporate business plan, departmental objectives, measurable deliverables, resource implications and implementation roadmaps. • Coordinate integrated planning across Commercial, Operations, Engineering, Finance, People, Digital, Supply Chain and other functions, resolving gaps and cross-functional dependencies. • Monitor aviation-market trends, competitors, regulation and industry benchmarks, and provide evidence-based strategic advice to the Chief Executive Officer. • Evaluate strategic opportunities, investment proposals and material business initiatives and present clear recommendations, risks and options. • Ensure Network Planning is explicitly integrated into corporate business planning alongside the other business functions. • Facilitate periodic corporate strategy reviews, including the quarterly review cycle, to reflect changing market conditions, financial performance and business priorities. 2. Corporate Performance Management • Own the enterprise corporate scorecard, KPI governance framework, KPI dictionary and performance-review calendar. • Ensure corporate and departmental KPIs are clearly defined, measurable, time-bound and aligned with the approved strategy and business plan. • Lead monthly corporate performance reviews with Executive Management and departmental heads. • Analyse material variances, identify root causes and require accountable business owners to submit corrective actions with owners, milestones and deadlines. • Produce concise CEO, Executive Management and Board dashboards covering financial, commercial, operational, guest, people, transformation and risk performance. • Maintain a single source of performance truth in collaboration with Finance and Data & Analytics. • Develop and maintain a balanced scorecard within the corporate performance management framework. • Ensure corrective-action plans define measurable outcomes in addition to clear ownership, milestones and deadlines, and monitor their effectiveness in addressing performance gaps. • Promote a culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making and continuous performance improvement. 3. Transformation & Strategic Initiatives • Maintain the enterprise transformation portfolio, governance standards, stage gates, milestones, dependencies, risk registers and escalation mechanisms. • Monitor cost optimisation, revenue enhancement, productivity and organisational-effectiveness initiatives approved by management or the Board. • Coordinate benefits tracking and obtain independent financial validation from Finance before benefits are reported as delivered. • Escalate delayed or at-risk initiatives and facilitate corrective action without taking operational implementation ownership away from the designated sponsor. • Ensure transformation activity remains aligned with corporate strategy and the annual business plan. • Track financial and operational benefits delivered by transformation initiatives, validating financial results with Finance and operational results with the relevant business functions before reporting them as delivered. • Recommend timely corrective action to the Chief Executive Officer for implementation risks, delays and unresolved cross-functional dependencies. 4. Corporate Communications & Reputation • Develop and implement Oman Air’s corporate communications strategy in line with the Chief Executive Officer’s direction and approved business priorities. • Lead corporate announcements, executive messages, speeches, media statements, presentations and official communications for the Chief Executive Officer and authorized spokespersons. • Manage corporate media relations, media monitoring, press enquiries, briefings and issues management. • Protect Oman Air’s corporate reputation through proactive stakeholder awareness, message discipline and timely response to emerging issues. • Coordinate crisis communications within the approved incident-management structure and ensure legal, safety, regulatory and government approvals are obtained where required. • Maintain controls over official statements, confidential information, spokesperson authority and publication channels. • Ensure consistency, accuracy and professionalism across internal and external corporate communications, including approved information disseminated through media briefings and interviews. • Establish communication protocols for sensitive matters, operational disruptions and reputational risks, coordinating with relevant operational, Legal, Safety and government stakeholders. • Ensure external communications comply with applicable regulatory requirements, company policies and approved government or shareholder communication directives. • Support the designated incident or crisis management leadership with accurate, timely and appropriately authorised messages; ensure external statements, sensitive announcements and material-incident communications are issued only by authorised spokespersons through approved channels. 5. Internal Communications & Employee Engagement • Develop an internal communications plan that helps employees understand Oman Air’s strategy, priorities, performance and transformation agenda. • Support the Chief Executive Officer with town halls, leadership messages, executive briefings and communication of material organisational decisions. • Establish effective two-way communication and feedback channels and report recurring employee themes to management. • Coordinate with People on culture, engagement and organisational-change communication while retaining clear accountability for the corporate narrative and channels. • Measure communication reach, understanding, engagement and effectiveness and implement improvements. • Enable employees to share improvement suggestions through two-way communication channels and use employee feedback and engagement indicators to recommend improvements to internal communications. • Communicate leadership direction, organisational priorities and achievements, and promote transparency, teamwork, accountability, respect and pride in Oman Air. 6.
