General Manager

A well-established, privately owned Kuwaiti company operating across interior fit-out, customized furniture manufacturing, joinery and project execution is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the next stage of professionalization, management development and growth. The business operates through established commercial, finance, technical, procurement, production, quality, logistics and installation functions, supported by structured operational systems and processes. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for day-to-day executive management of the company, lead the existing management team and drive performance across commercial, financial, operational and people functions. Key Responsibilities • Lead the company's day-to-day executive management. • Translate shareholder strategy into annual business plans, budgets and measurable targets. • Lead and coordinate the senior management team across Commercial, Finance, Operations and HR/Admin. • Establish and chair structured weekly management meetings and monthly performance reviews. • Hold functional managers accountable for agreed KPIs and corrective actions. • Oversee revenue, profitability, gross margin, EBITDA, cash flow and working-capital performance. • Strengthen budgeting, forecasting and management reporting. • Ensure effective coordination between sales, design, technical, procurement, production and installation. • Resolve cross-functional issues and operational bottlenecks. • Oversee senior-management performance, development and succession. • Strengthen delegation, accountability, governance and organizational discipline. • Ensure routine management decisions are made at the appropriate organizational level without unnecessary shareholder escalation. • Provide clear monthly management reporting to the Managing Partner/shareholders. Candidate Requirements • Approximately 12–18 years of professional experience. • At least 5 years in a General Management, P&L, Business Unit, COO, Operations Director or equivalent senior leadership role. • Proven responsibility for multiple business functions, not only one department. • Strong experience in business planning, budgeting, profitability management and management reporting. • Strong financial literacy and the ability to independently interpret P&L statements, balance sheets, cash-flow forecasts, gross margins, EBITDA, working capital, project profitability and budget-vs-actual performance. • Experience in interior fit-out, furniture manufacturing, joinery, project-based manufacturing, construction finishing, building products or bespoke/custom manufacturing is strongly preferred. • Kuwait or GCC experience is strongly preferred. • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop experienced functional managers. • Strong commercial judgment and understanding of project-based businesses. • A structured, analytical and performance-driven management style. • Ability to delegate effectively while maintaining accountability. • Comfortable working closely with active shareholders and gradually assuming broad executive authority. Important This is not a purely sales, factory-management or finance role. The company is seeking a senior executive capable of managing the business as an integrated whole across Commercial, Finance, Operations, People and Performance Management. The role is also not designed for someone who personally manages every operational detail. The successful candidate must be capable of leading through managers, systems, KPIs and accountability.
