(JEPCC) 🏗️ Department: Engineering / Design Center 🌍 Projects: Middle East & Africa 📋 Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role POWERCHINA JEPCC is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Design Engineer to join our Dubai Engineering & Design Center. The successful candidate will lead and independently deliver civil and structural engineering design packages for utility-scale Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), HV/EHV AIS/GIS substations, and associated transmission line projects. This is a hands-on engineering design role, requiring strong technical expertise in site development, grading, earthworks, drainage, underground infrastructure, foundation design, and structural engineering within EPC/EPCM environments. Key Responsibilities Civil Engineering & Site Development Independently develop civil engineering designs from concept through detailed engineering and IFC stages. Perform site grading, cut-and-fill calculations, earthworks optimization, slope design and finished-level planning. Design internal access roads, crane pads, working platforms and associated site infrastructure. Review topographical surveys, geotechnical investigations, hydrology studies and site conditions. Drainage & Underground Infrastructure Perform hydrological assessments and stormwater drainage calculations. Design drainage networks, channels, culverts, pipelines, manholes and stormwater management systems. Develop underground utilities, cable trenches, duct banks, utility corridors and associated civil infrastructure. Foundation & Structural Engineering Independently design reinforced concrete and steel structures, foundations and equipment support systems. Prepare foundations for PV mounting structures, trackers, inverters, MV skids, BESS containers, PCS equipment and transformers. Perform structural analysis, load calculations, foundation sizing and stability verification. Prepare structural calculations, drawings, design reports and foundation schedules. Substation & Transmission Line Infrastructure Design civil and structural works for HV/EHV AIS/GIS substations, including equipment foundations, control buildings, cable basements, access roads and drainage systems. Support transmission line tower and pole foundation design, access roads and associated civil works. Engineering Deliverables & Coordination Independently prepare complete civil and structural design packages, including calculations, technical specifications, IFC drawings, BOQs and material take-offs. Prepare engineering inputs for tendering and procurement activities. Coordinate with electrical, mechanical and other engineering disciplines. Review vendor drawings, resolve design interfaces and support value engineering. Provide technical support during construction and commissioning. Mandatory Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. 8–12 years of relevant civil engineering design experience. Proven hands-on civil design experience in utility-scale Solar PV projects is MANDATORY. Demonstrated experience independently delivering complete civil engineering design packages within EPC/EPCM projects. Strong expertise in grading, cut-and-fill, earthworks, roads, drainage, hydrology, underground utilities and site development. Proven structural engineering capability, including foundation and reinforced concrete design. Ability to interpret geotechnical reports, topographical surveys and engineering design inputs. Strong engineering calculation, technical documentation and multidisciplinary coordination skills. Required Engineering Software Mandatory: AutoCAD Autodesk Civil 3D STAAD.Pro ETABS SAFE SAP2000 Microsoft Office Suite Preferred: Revit / BIM Global Mapper InfraWorks GIS Platforms Preferred Experience BESS civil and structural design. HV/EHV AIS/GIS substation projects. Transmission line foundation and infrastructure design. UAE, GCC or wider Middle East project experience. Experience with EPC/EPCM contractors or engineering design consultants. Professional certification such as PE, CEng or PMP is an advantage. Important – Design Experience Required This is NOT a site supervision, QA/QC, or construction management position. We are specifically looking for engineers who have personally performed engineering calculations, developed civil and structural designs, and independently delivered detailed engineering packages.
