Join Our Team: Civil Engineer - Project Management: Power at EtihadWE We are seeking a talented and experienced Civil Engineer to support our power infrastructure projects, particularly in the construction of power substations and power cable networks. In this key role, you will be responsible for supervising civil construction activities, coordinating with contractors and relevant stakeholders, and ensuring that project execution complies with approved engineering specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules. The role is predominantly site-based, offering an opportunity to contribute directly to the successful delivery of critical power infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities: • Supervise and monitor civil construction activities for power substations and power cable projects to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements. • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, workmanship, quality, and adherence to approved project schedules. • Coordinate with EPC contractors, engineering consultants, project teams, and power utilities to ensure smooth execution of construction activities. • Review construction method statements, inspection and test plans, checklists, and other technical documents related to civil works. • Monitor site activities and ensure that construction works are carried out in accordance with approved engineering designs, applicable standards, and safety requirements. • Prepare, issue, and follow up on site memos, non-conformity reports (NCRs), and field change requests to address construction issues and deviations. • Identify site-related technical challenges, coordinate corrective actions, and follow up with contractors to ensure timely resolution. • Verify that construction activities comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality requirements, and project documentation. • Coordinate with project stakeholders to resolve site issues and minimize delays in construction and project delivery. • Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports, progress updates, and relevant construction documentation. • Monitor contractors’ performance and ensure that civil works are completed within the agreed scope, schedule, quality standards, and safety requirements. • Support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformities and improve construction quality. • Participate in site meetings, technical discussions, and progress reviews with contractors, consultants, and internal project teams. • Provide technical support and practical recommendations to ensure the successful execution of power infrastructure projects. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in infrastructure projects, particularly power substations and power cable projects. • Experience working with EPC contractors and/or engineering consultants is preferred. • Experience coordinating with power utilities and other project stakeholders. • Strong practical experience in site supervision and civil construction activities for substations and cable projects. • Experience in overhead line projects would be an advantage. • Good understanding of construction drawings, technical specifications, method statements, inspection checklists, and quality control procedures. • Experience preparing and following up on site memos, non-conformity reports, and field change requests. • Strong coordination, problem-solving, communication, and reporting skills. • Ability to work effectively in a predominantly site-based environment and manage multiple construction activities.
