Senior Civil Design Engineer – Solar PV Projects Specialization: Site Development, Earthworks & Foundations Company: POWERCHINA Jiangxi Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. (JEPCC) Location: Dubai, UAE – Engineering Design Hub Department: Engineering & Design Vacancy: 1 Position Projects: Middle East, Africa & Europe About the Position We are looking for an experienced Senior Civil Design Engineer with proven experience in utility-scale Solar PV projects. The role focuses on site development, site grading, cut & fill, earthworks, foundations, roads, drainage and associated ground works. The successful candidate will join our Dubai Design Hub and support civil engineering design for international Solar PV and renewable energy EPC projects. This is a Civil Site Development / Ground Works design role, NOT a Structural Engineering role. Key Responsibilities • Perform civil engineering design for utility-scale Solar PV plants and related infrastructure. • Develop site grading plans, earthworks designs and cut & fill calculations. • Prepare site development layouts, earthwork quantity calculations and ground preparation plans. • Design and coordinate foundations, piling works and related ground works for solar PV installations. • Prepare civil designs for access roads, internal roads, drainage and stormwater management systems. • Review topographical surveys, geotechnical reports and site investigation data. • Prepare and review civil design drawings, calculations, technical specifications and BOQs. • Coordinate with electrical, structural and other engineering disciplines. • Ensure civil designs comply with project specifications and applicable engineering standards. • Provide technical support during EPC engineering and construction stages. Required Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. • Minimum 7 years of relevant civil engineering experience. • Experience in utility-scale Solar PV civil engineering projects is required. • Strong hands-on experience in site grading, cut & fill, earthworks and foundation works is essential. • Experience in site development, roads, drainage and ground works. • Ability to independently prepare civil engineering design drawings and calculations. • Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory. • Experience with Civil 3D or equivalent earthworks / terrain modelling software is preferred. • Knowledge of geotechnical conditions and foundation engineering. • International EPC project experience is preferred. • GCC experience is an advantage. • Candidates currently based in the UAE are preferred. • Good English communication and coordination skills. Important Candidate Requirements We are specifically looking for engineers with practical Solar PV Civil Design and Ground Works experience. Candidates specializing mainly in building structural design, steel structure analysis or construction supervision without relevant civil design experience are not the target profile for this position.
