Site Engineer

Job Purpose The Site Engineer will be responsible for managing and supervising site activities across retail outlets, showrooms, kiosks, luxury villas, and other fit-out and construction projects. The role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on site experience, and the ability to coordinate contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Key Responsibilities Site Execution & Supervision • Supervise day-to-day site activities for retail, showroom, kiosk, villa, fit-out, and construction projects. • Ensure all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements. • Monitor civil, architectural, structural, MEP, and finishing works as applicable. • Ensure proper sequencing and coordination of site activities to meet project timelines. • Conduct regular site inspections and identify any technical or construction-related issues. • Ensure workmanship and materials meet the required quality standards. Technical Coordination • Review and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings. • Coordinate with consultants, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal design/project teams. • Identify drawing discrepancies, site constraints, and technical issues and coordinate timely resolutions. • Ensure approved shop drawings, material samples, and specifications are followed on site. • Assist in preparing and reviewing RFIs, site instructions, inspection requests, and other project documentation. Retail & Fit-Out Projects • Manage site execution for retail stores, showrooms, kiosks, boutiques, and commercial spaces. • Coordinate works around tight handover schedules and retail opening deadlines. • Ensure high-quality execution of flooring, ceilings, partitions, joinery, finishes, signage, lighting, and other fit-out elements. • Coordinate with joinery and fabrication teams to ensure accurate installation and site requirements are met. • Work closely with the design and project teams to maintain the required brand and aesthetic standards. Villa & Construction Projects • Supervise civil and finishing works for luxury villas and residential construction projects. • Monitor activities including blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, tiling, flooring, painting, ceilings, and other finishing works. • Coordinate with MEP teams and ensure proper integration of services with architectural and civil works. • Ensure site works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings and project specifications. Project Monitoring & Reporting • Monitor daily progress against the project schedule and highlight delays or risks. • Prepare daily site reports and provide regular updates to the Project Manager. • Track manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractor activities. • Assist with project planning, material requirements, and site logistics. • Support project handover, snagging, rectification, and final completion activities. Quality, Health & Safety • Ensure all site activities comply with company, project, and UAE health and safety requirements. • Conduct quality checks and coordinate inspections with consultants and relevant authorities. • Identify and report non-conformance and ensure corrective actions are implemented. • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment. Key Interfaces • Project Manager • Construction Manager • Design & Technical Team • Quantity Surveyors / Estimators • Consultants and Architects • Contractors and Subcontractors • Suppliers and Vendors • Site Supervisors and Foremen • MEP Contractors Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline. • 3–7 years of relevant site experience in the UAE or GCC. • Proven experience in interior fit-out and construction projects. • Strong experience in retail stores, showrooms, kiosks, commercial spaces, and luxury villas. • Experience working on fast-track retail projects and projects with demanding handover deadlines is highly preferred. • UAE/GCC construction and fit-out experience is strongly preferred. • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, finishes, and site execution. • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings. • Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of MS Project, Primavera, or similar project management tools is an advantage.
