This role provides essential support to the classroom teacher, fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment for our youngest learners. --- Qualifications: • Essential: High School Diploma or equivalent. • Preferred: • Cache Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, Early Years, or a related educational field. • Relevant diploma or certificate in education, early childhood development, or teaching assistance. • Fluent command of the English language (spoken and written) is essential. Experience Requirements: • Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience working as a Teacher Assistant, Classroom Assistant, or similar support role within an Early Years or Key Stage 1 setting. • Demonstrable experience supporting children aged 3-5 years in a classroom environment. • Previous experience in a British curriculum school is highly desirable. Skills Required: • Technical Skills: • Proficiency in basic classroom technology, including interactive whiteboards and tablets. • Competency in general office software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel) for preparing resources and basic documentation. • Ability to assist with the creation, preparation, and organisation of learning materials and classroom displays. • Soft Skills: • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with children, parents, and staff members. • High degree of patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children. • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a proactive approach to classroom support. • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently when required. • Adaptability, flexibility, and resilience in a dynamic and fast-paced school environment. • Commitment to continuous professional development and contributing positively to the school community. Knowledge of the Specific Curriculum: • Comprehensive understanding and practical experience with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework of the National Curriculum for England. • Familiarity with the seven areas of learning and development within EYFS (Communication and Language; Physical Development; Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Literacy; Mathematics; Understanding the World; Expressive Arts and Design). • Knowledge of age-appropriate pedagogical approaches, assessment methods, and safeguarding practices pertinent to early years within the British educational system. • Awareness of the progression from EYFS into Key Stage 1 of the National Curriculum for England. UAE-Specific Requirements: • Ability to meet all regulatory requirements set by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) for educational support staff.
