KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Financial Control & Reporting: • Owning the monthly, quarterly and annual close process for entities operating in different jurisdictions (25+ entities) • Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS • Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity monitoring, and treasury operations • Deliver management reporting packs to the CFO/CEO and Board with clear commentary • Oversee accounts payable/receivable and maintain balance sheet integrity • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes Tax Strategy & Compliance: • Lead all UAE corporate tax compliance, planning, and filings • Own end-to-end VAT management: registration, returns, reconciliations, and responses to FTA enquiries and audits • Advise on transfer pricing, cross-border transactions, and tax-efficient structuring for trading activities • Serve as primary point of contact with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) • Monitor legislative changes and proactively assess their impact on the business • Liaise with external tax advisors and auditors on complex matters Governance & Internal Controls: • Design, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies • Lead the annual external audit process and coordinate with auditors • Ensure compliance with relevant UAE regulatory frameworks (DFSA/ADGM as applicable) • Support investor reporting requirements and due diligence processes • Monitor the efficient implementation of the finance IT security management system to ensure confidentiality and safety of all financial information Systems: • Drive continuous improvement in ERP and financial systems • Partner with operations, legal, and senior management on commercial and strategic decisions • Lead identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices considering international best practice Behavioral: • Exceptional attention to detail with a zero-tolerance approach to errors in compliance • Autonomous and proactive — comfortable in a lean, fast-moving environment • Clear, precise, and concise business communication (written & oral) • Commercially minded — understands the link between finance, operations, and trading P&L • Management of local teams QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent Preferred Qualifications: • Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar • ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification — required Experience: • Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior financial control role • Mandatory: proven background in a trading company — commodities, FX, financial instruments, or similar • Deep, hands-on expertise in UAE VAT — including complex cases, voluntary disclosures, and FTA audits • Solid command of UAE Corporate Tax law and its application to trading structures • Track record of managing tax compliance in a multi-entity or cross-border environment • Strong IFRS knowledge and financial reporting skills • Currently residing in Dubai — applications from outside the UAE will not be considered English fluency required; Arabic a strong plus Show more Show less
