Requirements

• Senior Electronic Technician: Minimum of 5 years as a Senior Electrician/ET on an offshore facility, or 5 years offshore experience as a Field Service Technician with a service company like NOV, Cameron, Seatrax, Letourneau or Caterpillar. Completion of the ARO On the Job Training for Senior ET.
• Electronic Technician: Minimum of 3 years as an Electrician/ET on an offshore facility, or 2 years offshore experience as a Field Service Technician with a service company like NOV, Cameron, Seatrax, Letourneau or Caterpillar. Completion of the ARO On the Job Training for ET.
• Completion of the ARO On the Job Training for ET trainee.
• Accredited Trade School certificate in electrical or electronics preferred, or military training in same. Engineering is also preferred. Training specifically to drilling equipment and controls is preferred.
• Proficiency in software such as, Siemens Step 7, Toshiba TPDS32, Drive coach, RS Logix, Rigsense, Microsoft Office specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Shall Include but not limited to:
• - Perform emergency duties as per Station Bill and Emergency Procedures Manual.
• - Effectively participate in the Stop Observe Act Report (SOAR) program and encourage active participation.
• - Comply with and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of ACE (ARO Code of Excellence), Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• - Responsible for the control and management of software related to rig-based control and automation systems.
• - Maintain a working knowledge of software control systems used in rig-based control and automation.
• - Ensure familiarity with equipment and systems required to restore essential services during emergency situations.
• - Ensure all electrical installation work is performed correctly and that equipment is fit for purpose.
• - Verify that all third-party equipment meets applicable requirements and standards.
• - Identify electrical hazards and determine work activities requiring risk assessments.
• - Operate, inspect, service, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment, including: Communication systems, Networks, Software applications, PLC systems, HDMI and SDI systems, VFD drives, Drilling control systems, Jacking Monitoring Systems.
• - Plan work activities before commencement and effectively manage associated hazards.
• - Establish schedules to optimize equipment utilization and evaluate equipment performance.
• - Develop work plans for maintenance crews and ensure availability of required parts, tools, equipment, and documentation.
• - Comply with the Company's Code of Conduct.
• - Maintain records, reports, and logs as required by the Company.
• - Perform all work to meet internal and external customer expectations, emphasizing quality and continuous improvement.
• - Prepare reports on major equipment failures, modifications, equipment performance, and maintenance history as required.
• - Complete and hand over reports, logs, records, and notes in accordance with approved procedures and instructions.
• - Diagnose faults and repair electrical, control, and instrumentation systems as necessary.
• - Assist electricians when required as part of the maintenance team.
• - Responsible for the installation, configuration, and integration of new systems.
• - Verify system schematics and network topology and build/monitor trends for troubleshooting purposes.
• - Maintain PLC network integrity and understand the primary functions of PLC logic systems.
• - Manage and maintain technical spare parts inventory.
• - Maintain critical drilling and safety equipment software, firmware, and hardware, ensuring software versions comply with Software Management Procedures.
• - Review Company documentation with crew members as required.
• - Participate in document reviews and revisions when necessary.
• - Demonstrate active participation in Hazard Management and Stop Work activities.
• - Contribute effectively to Management of Change (MOC) and Non-Conformance Management by ensuring compliance with relevant procedures.
• - Control and monitor inventory budgets.
• - Maintain contact with regulatory agencies as required.
• - Assist with the mentoring process in accordance with the Company's Mentoring Program where applicable.
• - Demonstrate leadership through personal responsibility and accountability.
• - Participate in the Company's Competence Program.
• - Supervise and manage personnel in accordance with assigned supervisory roles and responsibilities.
• - Implement frontline discipline in consultation with the next-level supervisor.
• - Participate in a leading role during relevant incident investigations.
