Use the first calculator to see your premium and any ILOE fine you may owe, and the second to see what you would be paid if your employer ends your job. ILOE fine and claim FAQ

What is the ILOE fine for not subscribing?

AED 400. If your work permit was issued after 1 October 2023 you have 4 months from the permit date to subscribe. Workers employed before then had to subscribe by 30 September 2023. Subscribing late still triggers the fine.

What is the ILOE fine for not paying the premium?

If an instalment stays unpaid for more than 3 months (90 days) after it falls due, the certificate is cancelled and a fine applies. MOHRE announced this fine as AED 200 in 2023. The u.ae government portal currently lists AED 400, so we show AED 200 to 400 until the figures match.

How do I check my ILOE fine?

Our calculator estimates the fine from the published rules but cannot see your record. To see your actual fine, log in with your Emirates ID on the MOHRE app or website, or check your policy on the ILOE website or app.

What happens if I do not pay an ILOE fine?

MOHRE can deduct the unpaid fine from your salary or your end-of-service gratuity, and it can refuse you a new work permit until the fine is paid. You can ask to pay in instalments, and appeal with supporting documents. MOHRE decides appeals within 15 working days.

How much does ILOE insurance cost?

Category A (basic salary up to AED 16,000) costs AED 5 a month plus VAT, which is AED 63 a year. Category B (basic above AED 16,000) costs AED 10 a month plus VAT, which is AED 126 a year. You can pay monthly, quarterly, every six months or yearly.

How much will ILOE pay me if I lose my job?

60% of your average basic salary over the 6 months before the job loss, for up to 3 months per claim. The monthly payment is capped at AED 10,000 for Category A and AED 20,000 for Category B. Across your whole working life in the UAE you can receive at most 12 months of payments.

Who is eligible to claim ILOE?

You must have been subscribed for at least 12 months in a row (with no gap over 3 months), have paid all premiums, have lost the job for a reason other than resignation or disciplinary dismissal, have no absconding complaint, be legally in the UAE, and claim within 30 days of the job ending.

Who does not have to subscribe to ILOE?

Investors who own the company they work for, domestic workers, temporary contract workers, people under 18, and retirees who receive a pension and have joined a new employer. UAE nationals who meet the retirement conditions are also exempt. Everyone else working in the private sector or the federal government must subscribe.

Do I get ILOE if I resign?

No. The scheme pays only when your employer ends the job. Resignation and dismissal for disciplinary reasons are both excluded.

When do ILOE payments stop?

After 3 months for that claim, when you start a new job, or when you reach the 12-month lifetime total. If you use the full 3 months, you must be subscribed for another 12 months in a row before you can claim again.
