The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for supervising, inspecting, and coordinating all mechanical works related to stormwater, irrigation, pumping stations, and associated infrastructure projects. The role requires ensuring compliance with project specifications, authority requirements, quality standards, contractual obligations, and HSE regulations throughout construction, testing, commissioning, and handover. Supervise and inspect all mechanical works associated with stormwater drainage, irrigation networks, pumping stations, reservoirs, tanks, pipelines, valves, and related infrastructure facilities. Review and provide comments on mechanical shop drawings, technical submittals, material submissions, method statements, testing procedures, and as-built documentation. Ensure all mechanical installations comply with project specifications, approved drawings, contract requirements, and applicable authority standards. Coordinate mechanical works with civil, structural, electrical, utility, and SCADA disciplines to ensure efficient project execution. Monitor contractor performance, construction progress, and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved schedules and quality requirements. Inspect the installation of pumps, motors, valves, surge protection systems, pressure reducing stations, mechanical pipelines, fittings, and associated equipment. Witness and verify mechanical testing and commissioning activities, including hydrostatic testing, pressure testing, flushing, performance testing, equipment start-up, and operational testing. Participate in factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) where required. Identify and resolve technical issues, design conflicts, construction challenges, and site constraints in coordination with the project team. Review and respond to RFIs, technical queries, design modifications, and contractor proposals. Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, utility providers, and relevant authorities to facilitate inspections, approvals, testing, and project handover. Monitor compliance with QA/QC procedures and ensure timely closure of NCRs, observations, and corrective actions. Attend progress meetings, technical workshops, commissioning meetings, and authority inspections. Prepare inspection reports, progress updates, technical assessments, and recommendations for the Resident Engineer. Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and promote safe working practices during all mechanical installation and commissioning activities. Review operation and maintenance manuals, asset registers, test certificates, and handover documentation. Support project closeout, final inspections, commissioning approvals, and handover of mechanical systems to the Client.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 7 years of experience in construction supervision of infrastructure projects. Proven experience in stormwater, irrigation, pumping stations, water transmission, utility infrastructure, and associated mechanical systems . Strong knowledge of pumps, pipelines, valves, mechanical equipment, testing, and commissioning procedures. Familiarity with authority requirements, quality standards, and construction supervision practices within the UAE/GCC. UAE/GCC experience preferred.
