Senior Road Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our infrastructure project team in Abu Dhabi, with strong experience in pump stations, lifting stations, and associated mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and monitor mechanical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and project requirements. Supervise the installation and execution of mechanical works for pump stations, lifting stations, drainage pumping systems, and associated infrastructure. Review and assess contractor technical submissions, including shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, technical proposals, and equipment submittals. Monitor the installation, testing, commissioning, and completion of pumps, lifting station equipment, mechanical systems, pipework, valves, and associated equipment. Coordinate mechanical works with civil, electrical, wet utilities, structural, and other disciplines to ensure proper interfaces and timely execution. Monitor site progress, quality, workmanship, and compliance with approved project requirements. Conduct site inspections and review inspection requests to ensure mechanical works are completed in accordance with approved documents. Review and monitor mechanical equipment installation, alignment, connections, testing, and commissioning. Review testing and commissioning procedures and witness relevant tests for pumps, lifting stations, and associated mechanical systems. Identify technical issues, construction risks, and potential delays and coordinate appropriate corrective actions. Provide technical guidance and support to the project team and Contractor on mechanical engineering matters. Coordinate with the Contractor, Authorities, stakeholders, and other project disciplines to resolve technical and construction-related issues. Review the Contractor’s proposed equipment, materials, and mechanical systems for compliance with project specifications and approved requirements. Monitor the Contractor’s compliance with approved construction methods, quality requirements, and project specifications. Maintain proper records of inspections, technical matters, progress, testing, commissioning, and construction activities. Participate in technical, progress, and coordination meetings with the Contractor and project stakeholders. Support the Resident Engineer and Project Management team in the successful delivery of the works. Ensure health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements are properly implemented throughout the construction activities.

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. 10 Years of Relevant experience in mechanical works for infrastructure and construction projects. Strong experience in pump stations, lifting stations, pumping systems, and associated mechanical works. Good knowledge of pumps, valves, pipework, mechanical equipment, and related systems. Experience in installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems. Experience in reviewing technical submissions, shop drawings, method statements, ITPs, RFIs, and equipment submittals. Experience in construction supervision and coordination with contractors and other disciplines. UAE infrastructure and Authority experience is preferred. Strong communication, coordination, technical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team.
