Senior Engineer Road

Requirements: We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer – Roads to join our infrastructure project team in Abu Dhabi. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and monitor road construction works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and project requirements. Manage and coordinate day-to-day road construction activities, including earthworks, subgrade, subbase, road base, asphalt works, kerbs, footpaths, paving, road markings, and associated works. Review Contractor submissions, including shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, RFIs, and technical proposals. Monitor construction progress, quality, workmanship, and compliance with approved project requirements. Conduct site inspections and review Inspection Requests to ensure works are completed in accordance with approved documents and specifications. Coordinate with surveyors to verify setting out, levels, alignment, grades, and road profiles. Monitor earthworks, compaction, field density testing, asphalt works, and other required quality control and testing activities. Coordinate road works with wet utilities, electrical, telecom, drainage, street lighting, landscaping, and other infrastructure services. Identify technical issues, construction risks, and potential delays and coordinate appropriate corrective actions. Review and provide technical recommendations on construction methods and proposed solutions. Monitor the Contractor’s compliance with approved method statements, ITPs, quality requirements, and safety procedures. Coordinate with the Contractor, Authorities, and other stakeholders to resolve construction and technical issues. Monitor testing and inspection activities and ensure required approvals are obtained prior to proceeding with subsequent works. Maintain proper records of site inspections, progress, technical issues, and construction activities. Participate in progress, technical, and coordination meetings with the Contractor and project stakeholders. Support the Resident Engineer in managing and supervising road construction activities. Ensure health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements are properly implemented throughout the works.

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Experience in road and infrastructure projects. Knowledge of earthworks, pavements, asphalt, kerbs, footpaths, paving, and road markings. Minimum 10 years of site supervision, inspection, and quality control experience. Familiarity with drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and testing requirements. Experience coordinating with utilities and other infrastructure disciplines. UAE infrastructure and authority experience preferred. Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
