Site Geotechnical Engineer (Construction Supervision)

WSP is seeking an experienced Site Geotechnical Engineer to join its Construction Supervision Team for major transportation, roads, utilities, and infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the geotechnical aspects of construction works, including earthworks, excavation, utility trenching, dewatering, ground improvement, pavement subgrade preparation, testing and inspection activities, and compliance with approved geotechnical recommendations, project specifications, and applicable Abu Dhabi requirements. The role requires extensive experience in construction supervision of infrastructure projects and a strong understanding of Abu Dhabi soil conditions, geotechnical risks, and construction practices. The Site Geotechnical Engineer will work closely with the Resident Engineer, contractors, testing laboratories, utility engineers, and other supervision staff to ensure that all geotechnical works are executed in accordance with project requirements, approved specifications, ADQCC requirements, and industry best practices.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Geotechnical Engineering. Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred. 5-10 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience. Proven experience delivering transportation, roads, highways, utilities, and infrastructure projects. Strong consultancy background within engineering design environments. Experience interpreting geotechnical investigation data and laboratory testing results. Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, gINT, WALLAP, or equivalent. Strong knowledge of foundation engineering, soil mechanics, earthworks, retaining structures, and ground improvement techniques. Familiarity with Eurocodes, AASHTO, British Standards, and relevant UAE standards. Excellent technical report writing and communication skills. Experience working on major infrastructure projects within the UAE or GCC region is preferred. Knowledge of Abu Dhabi and UAE ground conditions is highly desirable. Previous experience with leading engineering consultancies is preferred. Consultant-side infrastructure experience is essential.   Imagine a better future for you and a better future for us all. Support the delivery of major transportation, road, utilities, and infrastructure projects across the UAE. Conduct geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design. Prepare technical reporting and documentation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop safe, practical, and cost-effective geotechnical solutions. Lead or contribute to geotechnical investigations data interpretation and laboratory testing review. Apply relevant codes and standards in design and reporting. Engage with Abu Dhabi/UAE ground condition knowledge and maintain stakeholder communication. Manage or contribute to consultancy-led project activities for major infrastructure projects.
