Previous or current experience in a similar role within the hotel industry will be considered an advantage. Good communication and customer-service skills are important. Basic English is usually required, especially for taking orders. Numeracy skills help with bills and payments. Previous restaurant/hospitality experience is helpful but often not essential . You may need food hygiene training , depending on the employer and role. For serving alcohol, additional requirements may apply depending on the country and workplace.
