Electro Neurodiagnostic Technologist (SKMC)

The Electro Neurodiagnostic Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of neurodiagnostic tests to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders. This includes routine and complex EEG, IOM, EMG, Epilepsy Monitoring, and Evoked Potential examinations. The role is responsible to independently or under the supervision of a senior technologist conduct all operations related to Neurodiagnostic output such as performing the operation, analyzing its output and provides diagnosis when required to do so.

Bachelor’s degree in the field of Applied Sciences majoring in Neurophysiology or Biophysics/Physiology or equivalent (minimum three (3) years course duration) or Associate degree (minimum two (2) years course duration) from an accredited training program as Neurophysiology Technologist And Registration from one of the following bodies: .  American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists or equivalent American Board of Registration of Evoked Potential Technologists or equivalent. American Association of Polysomnographic Technologists or equivalent. The UK Registration Council for Clinical Neurophysiology The Clinical Physiologist Registration Board of New Zealand South African Registration as a Clinical Technologist

Perform a variety of neurodiagnostic tests to assist in diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders, including routine and complex EEG, intraoperative monitoring (IOM), EMG, epilepsy monitoring, and evoked potential examinations. Independently or under supervision, operate Neurodiagnostic equipment, analyze outputs, and provide (where required) diagnostic interpretation. Ensure quality control and patient safety throughout testing, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with clinical teams to support patient care.
