Electrical Technician – Solar PV KSA Technical Recruitment Campaign 2026 Location: Saudi Arabia Function: Operations & Maintenance – Solar PV Job Summary ACWA Operations is seeking experienced Electrical Technicians for upcoming opportunities across Solar PV plants in Saudi Arabia. The role is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance, electrical inspections, and troubleshooting of Solar PV electrical systems to ensure safe operations, equipment reliability, and optimal plant performance. Roles & Responsibilities • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment and systems at Solar PV plants. • Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot PV strings, combiner boxes, DC cables, inverters, MV transformers, switchgear, and electrical panels. • Carry out maintenance of motors, UPS, DC systems, earthing, lighting, and tracker electrical components where applicable. • Conduct electrical testing, including insulation resistance, continuity, and assigned PV electrical tests. • Identify electrical faults, repair or replace defective components, and support safe equipment testing and return to service. • Review electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, work orders, and OEM maintenance instructions. • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment readings, fault reports, and spare parts usage through CMMS. • Ensure compliance with HSSE standards, permit-to-work procedures, electrical isolation, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements. Job Specifications Minimum Education • Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or an equivalent recognized technical discipline. Minimum Experience • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance within Solar PV, power generation, or industrial facilities. • Experience with Solar PV electrical systems is preferred. Required Skills • Practical knowledge of electrical maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repair. • Understanding of Solar PV electrical systems, including DC circuits, inverters, combiner boxes, and associated equipment. • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. • Experience using electrical testing instruments and performing insulation resistance and continuity tests. • Knowledge of PV testing methods, including string testing and I-V curve testing. • Understanding of preventive maintenance, electrical safety, equipment isolation, and LOTO procedures. • Basic knowledge of CMMS, maintenance reporting, and documentation. • Good teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail. Work Conditions • Plant-based position at Solar PV facilities in Saudi Arabia. • Outdoor work in remote locations. • Exposure to DC electrical hazards, with all work performed under approved safety procedures, authorization, and PPE requirements.
