Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer (MEP)

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced SR. Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and coordination of HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Fire Fighting systems for residential, commercial, and high-rise building projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing efficient and compliant mechanical designs in accordance with project specifications, local authority regulations, and international standards. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop HVAC systems, including cooling load calculations, ductwork sizing, chilled water systems, ventilation, and equipment selection. • Design Plumbing and Drainage systems, including water supply, drainage, stormwater, and sewage networks. • Design and coordinate Fire Fighting systems in accordance with NFPA and Civil Defence requirements. • Prepare detailed design calculations, technical reports, specifications, and engineering documentation. • Develop and review MEP design drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD and Revit. • Coordinate mechanical services with architectural, structural, and electrical disciplines. • Ensure designs comply with UAE authority regulations, including Dubai Municipality and Dubai Civil Defence requirements. • Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize system performance and project costs. • Review consultant comments and provide technical solutions during design development stages. • Participate in design review meetings with clients, consultants, and project teams. • Support construction teams with technical clarifications and engineering solutions during project execution. • Review shop drawings, material submittals, and technical submissions. Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in Mechanical MEP Design. • Proven experience in high-rise, residential, commercial, mixed-use, and hospitality projects. • UAE/GCC experience is highly preferred. Technical Skills • Strong expertise in HVAC Design (Cooling Load Calculations, Chilled Water Systems, Ventilation & Pressurization Systems). • Strong knowledge of Plumbing and Fire Fighting Design. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks. • Experience with HAP, Carrier E-20, DuctSizer, or similar HVAC design software. • Good understanding of ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC, UPC, and local UAE regulations. • Knowledge of BIM coordination and clash detection processes.
