About the role

Company Description: Kozyk Consultancy is a boutique consulting firm in Dubai that has spent the last 18 years helping entrepreneurs, executives, and investors build their lives and businesses in the UAE: company formation, complex structuring and wealth management, banking, visas, mortgages, and the accounting and legal support that underpin it all. We've never run a single ad. Every one of our 500+ clients found us through someone who trusted us first, and that's exactly how our team of 11, based between the UAE and remote locations around the world, has grown too. We're now looking for a Head Accountant to own our UAE tax compliance as the company keeps growing. Applicants can learn more about the company’s services and approach at https://kozyk.ae. Role Description The Head Accountant is a full-time, hybrid role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This role oversees all accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations. The Head Accountant prepares and reviews financial statements, monitors cash flow, and ensures compliance with UAE financial regulations and internal policies. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising junior accounting staff, coordinating with external auditors, optimizing accounting processes, and providing financial analysis to support management decisions. The role also involves collaborating with operational teams to ensure accurate recording of transactions related to company registrations, licenses, and client projects. • Full ownership of VAT and Corporate Tax filings for the company and for clients • Oversee the quality of bookkeeping and accounting services we deliver for clients, reviewing and signing off on deliverables before they're sent • Direct liaison with the UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) on registrations, queries, and audits • Own month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and the accuracy of the books • Prepare financial and management reporting for leadership • Work with external auditors and, where needed, banks • Oversee invoice entry and bookkeeping, and mentor the invoice-entry accountant • Stay current on UAE tax law changes, including the move to e-invoicing from 2027 Qualifications • A university degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with 5+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior accounting or head accountant position, ideally within consulting or professional services. Experience in F&B, hospitality, or trading is a plus. • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred. • A proven track record preparing and filing UAE VAT returns and Corporate Tax declarations • Advanced proficiency with FirstBit, Xero, Wafeq, Zoho Books, or similar cloud accounting software, spreadsheets, and related digital tools. • Strong skills in financial accounting, general ledger management, and preparation of financial statements. • Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. • Experience with accounts payable/receivable, payroll administration, and bank reconciliations. • Knowledge of UAE accounting standards, tax and regulatory requirements, and compliance procedures. • Proven ability to lead and mentor an accounting team, set priorities, and manage workloads effectively. • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities. • Clear written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage. A fixed base salary plus a performance-based bonus against clear KPIs, with an additional incentive tied to growth of the accounting side of the business. This is a chance to own the finance function end-to-end at a company that's grown purely through word of mouth, without a single ad campaign.
