This is a hands-on, senior investment role offering direct access to the CEO and responsibility for evaluating existing investments, identifying new opportunities, executing transactions and managing private-market fund allocations. Key Responsibilities 1. Direct Investments & Transactions • Identify, assess and execute direct investments, acquisitions, minority investments, co-investments and joint ventures. • Build and review financial models, valuations, investment cases and downside scenarios. • Lead commercial due diligence, transaction negotiations and execution, working with external legal, tax and sector specialists where required. • Develop investment recommendations covering returns, risks, funding requirements, value creation and exit strategies. 2. Private-Market Fund Investments • Evaluate and monitor private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure and other relevant private-market funds. • Conduct detailed due diligence on fund managers, investment strategies, performance, fees, valuation methodologies, leverage and investor protections. • Assess fund commitments, capital calls, distributions, liquidity terms, redemption restrictions and exit provisions. • Recommend allocations and monitor fund performance against investment objectives. 3. Team Leadership • Recruit and develop a Junior Investment Analyst to support research, financial modelling and portfolio reporting. • Remain personally accountable for investment analysis, recommendations, execution and follow-through. • Work closely with the Finance Director and Operations & Risk Manager to support effective investment governance. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will demonstrate: • Typically 10+ years of relevant investment experience, including substantial recent buy-side responsibility in private markets. • Senior-level experience with a recognised international investment firm, private equity house, investment institution or financial-services organisation. • Proven experience in both direct investment execution and private-market fund selection and management. • A strong track record in financial modelling, valuation, due diligence, transaction structuring and investment-level portfolio oversight. • Experience assessing open-ended and closed-ended funds, including commitment planning, liquidity management, fees and investor terms. • The ability to independently evaluate investment opportunities, make commercially sound recommendations and explain investment outcomes. • Cross-border investment experience; exposure to Oman or the wider GCC region would be advantageous. • A relevant university degree. CFA, CAIA or a relevant postgraduate qualification would be an advantage. • Excellent written and verbal English communication, sound commercial judgement and a high degree of discretion. Candidates whose experience is limited to investment advisory, fundraising, product distribution or fund marketing, without meaningful direct-investment and buy-side decision-making responsibility, are unlikely to be suitable.
