Role Description The Coordinator of Volunteers is a full-time, on-site role based in Capital Governorate, Bahrain. This position is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and scheduling volunteers to support chess programs, events, and school activities. The coordinator will organize volunteer training sessions, provide clear role descriptions, and ensure volunteers have the resources needed to deliver high-quality support to coaches and students. Daily responsibilities include maintaining volunteer records, communicating regularly with volunteers and staff, and coordinating volunteer participation in community outreach initiatives. The role also involves monitoring volunteer performance, recognizing contributions, addressing concerns promptly, and helping improve the overall volunteer experience in alignment with CHESS TEAM FL’s mission. Qualifications • Candidates should possess skills in Volunteer Management and Volunteer Training to effectively recruit, onboard, and develop a strong volunteer team. • Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build positive relationships with volunteers, staff, students, and families. • Candidates should possess experience in Community Outreach to help expand program visibility and engage local organizations and schools. • Relevant experience coordinating volunteers in educational, youth, or nonprofit environments is highly beneficial. • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple programs and events simultaneously. • Comfort working in a multicultural environment and collaborating with diverse stakeholders. • Proficiency in basic office software and digital communication tools; experience with volunteer management systems is a plus. • A bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
