Role Description The Internship – Design Civil Engineer (Roads, Transportation, Traffic, Utilities) role is a potential full-time, on-site position based in Dubai. The intern will support senior engineers in the design and analysis of roadways, transportation corridors, traffic layouts, and utility networks, including preparation of drawings, design calculations, and documentation. Daily activities may include assisting with civil engineering design tasks, reviewing design standards, contributing to reports and technical notes, and coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams. The intern will help with data collection, preliminary planning, and basic stormwater and drainage layout under supervision. The role offers exposure to real-world infrastructure projects, opportunities to learn industry software and standards, and mentoring from experienced civil engineers. Qualifications • Strong foundation in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design, with the ability to apply core principles to roads, transportation, traffic, and utilities projects. • Interest in working alongside Civil Engineers on multidisciplinary project teams, supporting design documentation and technical coordination. • Basic knowledge of Planning concepts for transportation networks and urban infrastructure layout. • Introductory understanding of Stormwater Management and drainage design, including awareness of relevant standards and best practices. • Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field. • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications; familiarity with CAD or civil design software is an advantage. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in technical work. • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate in a diverse, professional team environment. • Willingness to work on-site in Dubai and learn from mentorship, feedback, and hands-on project experience.
