Senior Project Engineer – Civil (Interior Fit-Out & Refurbishment)

About the Role We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Civil Engineer to oversee and manage refurbishment, renovation, and interior fit-out projects in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of civil and interior finishing works, proven experience in managing site execution, and the ability to independently coordinate projects from initial assessment through completion and handover. This role requires practical problem-solving skills, commercial awareness, and the confidence to work closely with management, clients, consultants, and project teams. Key Responsibilities • Project Delivery: Independently plan, coordinate, and oversee civil refurbishment, renovation, repair, and interior fit-out works from site assessment to handover. • Technical Oversight: Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, and proposed technical solutions; identify site issues and recommend practical, cost-effective improvements. • Interior Fit-Out: Oversee partitions, ceilings, flooring, joinery, painting, doors, finishes, and associated civil works, ensuring effective coordination with MEP specialists. • Cost & Schedule Management: Prepare and review estimates, quotations, material requirements, project schedules, and variations; monitor costs and delivery milestones. • Site & Contractor Management: Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure efficient execution and resolution of technical or operational issues. • Quality & Compliance: Ensure workmanship meets approved specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable permits; manage inspections, snagging, and handover. • Management Reporting: Provide clear, timely updates on project progress, budgets, risks, and issues requiring management attention. Qualifications & Experience Essential Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. • Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering and project execution experience, with substantial exposure to refurbishment, renovation, and interior fit-out works. • Proven ability to independently manage projects through planning, site execution, and final handover. • Strong technical knowledge of civil works, architectural finishes, construction materials, and MEP coordination. • Practical experience in cost estimation, BOQs, contractor coordination, and project scheduling. • Strong communication, problem-solving, and project reporting skills. Preferred Qualifications • UAE/GCC experience in commercial refurbishment and interior fit-out projects. • Experience executing works within occupied, high-traffic, or operational facilities. • Familiarity with UAE construction standards, authority approvals, and site safety requirements. • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Excel, and project scheduling tools. • Valid UAE driving licence.
