IT Support Assistant

We are looking for a junior IT Support Assistant (Level 1) to help our team with everyday technology support. You will be the first person staff come to when something is not working, and you will also look after our IT stock and help keep files and backups organised. Training and guidance will be provided, so this is a good role for someone early in their IT career who enjoys helping people. What You Will Do Helpdesk and User Support • Answer IT requests from staff by ticket, email, phone, or in person. • Log every request so nothing is missed. • Fix common laptop, desktop, printer, and Wi-Fi problems on Mac and Windows. • Pass anything you cannot solve to a senior team member with clear notes. • Set up laptops and accounts for new joiners, and help with meeting room and video call setups. Accounts and Access • Create and disable user accounts in Google Workspace when told to do so. • Help staff with password resets and two-factor authentication. • Add users to groups and shared drives, following the approval process. Inventory and Assets • Keep the IT asset list up to date (laptops, monitors, phones, accessories). • Issue and collect equipment using the QR check-in and check-out process, and get a signature each time. • Keep stock of cables, adaptors, keyboards, mice, and headsets, and tell the IT Manager when items are running low. • Help with monthly stock counts and keep the store room tidy and labelled. Data and Storage Support • Help organise shared drive and NAS folders using the agreed naming rules. • Check that daily backups have run and report any failures. • Help staff find or restore files from backups and archives. Documentation and Security • Follow company IT and security rules at all times. • Report suspicious emails, lost devices, or possible security issues straight away. • Help keep simple how-to guides updated for common issues. What We Are Looking For • Diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field. • An IT certification is an advantage. • 1 to 2 years of experience in IT support. Internship or training experience will be considered. • Basic knowledge of Windows and macOS, and common office software. • Basic understanding of networking (Wi-Fi, VPN, printers). • Comfortable using spreadsheets to keep records. • Good spoken and written English. Arabic is a plus. • Friendly, patient, and willing to learn. • Organised, reliable, and honest when handling company equipment. Show more Show less
