Joinery & Furniture Cost Estimation Engineer

Technical Office & Cost Estimation Engineers Alfa Wood, a furniture and woodwork manufacturer based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, is seeking Technical Office & Cost Estimation Engineers to work on-site at its factory. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. - Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, specializing in Architecture or Interior Design. - Bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts, specializing in Furniture Design or a related field. Required Experience & Technical Knowledge: Candidates must have practical experience and strong knowledge of furniture and woodwork manufacturing, including: - Solid wood and engineered wood types, properties, and applications. - Natural veneer types, properties, applications, and processing methods. - Furniture and woodwork materials, components, and manufacturing methods. - Reading and interpreting drawings and technical specifications. - Analyzing material and component prices and calculating manufacturing costs. Key Responsibilities: - Review drawings and specifications and accurately quantify furniture and woodwork items. - Prepare quantity take-offs. - Develop cost sheets, translating quantities and specifications into material and manufacturing costs. - Prepare project cost estimates and quotations. - Select suitable materials in accordance with project requirements and technical specifications. Previous experience in estimating furniture and woodwork projects, particularly commercial and hospitality projects, is preferred. Required Software Skills: - AutoCAD: Very good proficiency. - Excel: Very good proficiency, including preparing quantity take-offs, cost sheets, and pricing schedules. - Proficiency in SketchUp or 3ds Max. - Knowledge of furniture design and architectural visualization software is an advantage. What We Are Looking For: Professionals with a comprehensive, practical understanding of furniture and woodwork manufacturing who can handle projects from reviewing drawings and specifications to quantifying items, selecting suitable materials, and preparing accurate, achievable cost estimates and quotations.
