Role Overview The IT Business Analyst – IT/OT connects plant operations users with the IT systems they depend on. You will gather and document business requirements, support and improve plant IT applications, and make sure systems are available, reliable and meet user needs. The role covers Honeywell and Baker Hughes plant applications. It combines business analysis, application support and .NET development. Key Responsibilities Requirements & Process Analysis Consult with users to identify, analyse and document business requirements and problems, and find ways to automate or improve existing systems and processes. Convert requirements and project specifications into logical flow charts, so the expected steps and outputs are clear to end-users. Plant Application Support (Honeywell and Baker Hughes) Support and maintain PIMS (Plant Information Management System) to meet management requirements. Support other Honeywell applications, including PHD (Process Historian Database), UPS (Uniformance Process Studio), PCT (PHD Configuration Tool), AFM (Advanced Formula Manager), the Uniformance Excel companion, AMS (Alarm Management System), Operations Monitoring and Production Balance. Support Baker Hughes applications used in plant operations. Keep Honeywell and Baker Hughes systems available with minimum downtime. Develop required reports and identify areas of improvement and concern. Define and carry out program modifications in coordination with the vendor and the business. Coordinate with Honeywell / Baker Hughes, QAFCO IT, Plant Productivity, Automation and other teams to keep the systems running. Coordinate IT maintenance improvement projects. Handle patch management for IT business solution systems. Coordinate plant IT issues on behalf of QAFCO IT, the Operations Division (Plant Productivity section) and vendors. Development & Programming Build web applications, web services and Windows-based applications that support system interfaces, using HTML, JavaScript and .NET. Carry out or assign programming and development work using application-specific coding methods. Revise existing programs to improve efficiency or meet new requirements from QAFCO sections. Testing & Quality Perform unit and regression testing to remove errors and confirm the system meets business requirements and specifications. Coordinate user acceptance sign-offs with the business. Problem Resolution Resolve system malfunctions and problems escalated by end-users. Investigate root causes and help design fixes that prevent repeat issues. Analyse system problems and coordinate decisions, including changes to IT plant systems. Documentation & Guidelines Write and update installation guidelines, testing guidelines and operating manuals so that systems are easy to use. Compliance & Continuous Learning Follow QAFCO's IT policies, procedures and methodologies. Follow QAFCO's Integrated Management Systems: Quality, Environment, Occupational Health & Safety, Responsible Care, Energy Management and IFA Product Stewardship. Be familiar with QAFCO's Vision, Mission, Strategic Map and Core Values. Keep up with new IT developments by reading manuals, periodicals and technical reports. Perform other related duties assigned by superiors to help the team meet its targets. Qualifications & Experience Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering (12+4 years) from a recognised university. Technical field required. Professional certification required. Experience 5+ years of direct, relevant experience in IT plant operations systems. 3–5 years of direct, relevant .NET programming experience. Experience with Baker Hughes systems used in plant operations.
