Senior Business Development Manager - Lighting

Are you a confident, client facing seller who thrives on managing relationships from the first meeting through to project delivery? A specialist design and supply company works with private clients, interior designers, contractors and developers across the UAE, delivering high end residential, hospitality and commercial projects. They source product from a global supplier network and are known in their market for two things: they never charge for design work, and they stay involved on site through delivery and installation rather than stepping away once the order is placed. Coming into a strong growth period, they are bringing in a dedicated salesperson for this division, a role that has until now been covered internally by the leadership team. This is not a purely technical role. You do not need specific product experience to succeed here, the team will teach you what you need. What matters is that you can hold a room, manage existing accounts properly, and go out and bring in new business, whether your background is lighting, interior fit out, or a related specification led product. What's in it for you: • A genuinely blank canvas, you would be the first salesperson this division has had • Direct access to and mentorship from senior leadership, both experienced industry sellers • An established client base to service from day one, alongside the freedom to build new business on top of it What you'll be doing: • Managing and growing an existing portfolio of contractor, developer and private client relationships • Identifying and closing new business across residential, hospitality and commercial projects • Presenting design and product proposals to clients, contractors and interior designers • Coordinating with the design and procurement team to bring proposals from concept to signed purchase order • Staying involved post sale, working with the project and installation teams through to delivery What we need: • A proven track record in a client facing sales or account management role, ideally with exposure to project based or specification led selling • Existing relationships across contractors, developers or interior designers in the UAE are a strong advantage, though not essential • Confidence managing long sales cycles, projects typically run eight to twelve weeks from purchase order to delivery • A genuine willingness to learn the product and technical side on the job • Comfort working in a fast paced, hands on business where client demands can be immediate If you want to build a sales function from scratch rather than inherit someone else's book, we would like to hear from you.
