Electrical Engineer - Data Centre

Your impact Jacobs is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the construction supervision and delivery of Hyperscale Data Center and Mission-Critical Infrastructure projects across the Middle East. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, client requirements, and local authority regulations. The role requires experience in Tier III/Tier IV Data Centers and mission-critical electrical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities • Supervise electrical construction activities and ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, codes, and standards. • Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, inspection and test plans, and technical documentation. • Monitor installation and testing of electrical systems including substations, HV/MV/LV distribution networks, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, battery systems, generators, grounding systems, and lightning protection systems. • Ensure compliance with Tier III/Tier IV redundancy requirements and mission-critical performance standards. • Coordinate electrical works with civil, structural, mechanical, ICT, and commissioning teams. • Support testing, energization, integrated systems testing (IST), commissioning, and handover activities. • Participate in inspections, audits, quality reviews, and contractor performance assessments. • Prepare technical reports and support project progress monitoring. Here's what you'll need Qualifications & Experience Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. • Professional registration or certifications such as PE, CEng, PMP, or equivalent are preferred. • Minimum 8-10 years of electrical engineering experience. • Minimum 3-5 years of direct experience on Hyperscale Data Centers, Tier III/Tier IV Data Centers, or Mission-Critical Facilities. • Experience with substations, UPS systems, generator plants, transformers, switchgear, SCADA, EPMS, and critical power infrastructure. • Experience supporting testing, commissioning, and energization activities. • Minimum 3-5 years of Middle East project experience. • Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NFPA, British Standards, and local authority requirements.
