Design Manager – Data Centres An international construction business specialising in mission-critical and data centre projects is expanding its team in Saudi Arabia and is looking for an experienced Design Manager to take a leading role in the delivery of major data centre developments. With projects ranging in scale up to 100MW, this is an opportunity to join a business operating at the forefront of one of the world's fastest-growing construction sectors, working across complex, technically demanding projects where design, engineering and construction need to operate seamlessly. As Design Manager, you will take end-to-end responsibility for design management across the data centre project lifecycle, from early design and pre-construction through detailed design, construction and handover. Responsibilities: • Leading the design management process from concept/pre-construction through to construction and handover. • Managing multidisciplinary design teams across architectural, structural, civil, MEP and specialist data centre systems. • Coordinating designers, consultants, specialist subcontractors and suppliers to ensure an integrated design solution. • Reviewing and challenging design proposals to ensure constructability, compliance, programme and commercial requirements are achieved. • Managing design deliverables, design programmes, technical submissions, RFIs and design changes. • Working closely with construction, commercial, procurement and project management teams throughout delivery. • Driving design coordination and resolving technical interfaces between disciplines and packages. To be considered, candidates must have: • Bachelor in Architecture, Civil Engineering or MEP Engineering • Strong main contracting / construction background with significant design management experience. • Proven experience delivering data centre projects through multiple stages of the lifecycle. • Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and complex technical interfaces. • A strong understanding of the relationship between design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. • The ability to operate confidently with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal construction teams. The business is open to candidates relocating from Europe, Australia, Asia or other international markets, provided you have the right data centre and contracting experience. This is more than a conventional Design Manager position.
