Maintenance & Engineering Safety Officer

Maintenance and Engineering Safety Officer is directly reporting to Director of Safety. Duties & Responsibilities 1) Responsible to ensure the maintenance manual meets the safety standards and regulations as per GACA and IOSA standards. 2) Responsible to ensure all maintenance employee strictly adhere to safety SOPs documented within the maintenance manual. 3) Responsible for ensuring that ramp safety procedures are strictly adhered by all maintenance staff assigned airside. 4) Responsible to ensure maintenance related incidents and accidents are reported to GACA and AIB within 48 hours of the occurrence. 5) Responsible to ensure all documents and reports pertaining to maintenance incidents are uploaded to the safety system regularly without delays. 6) Responsible to follow-up with the GACA and AIB on the reported occurrences and provide any needed support in case the need arise. 7) Responsible to investigate maintenance safety incidents, accidents and any special occurrences during the flight. 8) Responsible to conduct safety risk assessment against all maintenance hazard reports and advise the maintenance department with recommendations and corrective actions. 9) Determine and analyze hazardous conditions and assign risk assessment codes. 10) Responsible to evaluate hazardous condition thru safety observations/walk arounds. 11) Monitory corrective actions, recommend preventive measures, and analyze safety trends. 12) Conduct maintenance Inspections and assessments to identify maintenance operations safety deficiencies. 13) Ensure that corrective and preventive actions are taken at the root-cause levels on all Inspection nonconformities and findings in an acceptable manner and within reasonable time frames. 14) Gather data from regular checks, compile, analyze and summarize to identify trends and present to VP Safety & Quality. 15) Prepare reports and analyze monthly ramp statistics for aircraft damage, incidents, etc. 16) Produce quarterly trends reports for the Safety Action Group 17) Prepare and conduct maintenance safety awareness programs to enhance staff awareness and prevention of aircraft incidents and accidents. 18) Prepare and disseminate maintenance safety memo and bulletin. 19) Responsible for the implementation of safety culture and housekeeping that ensures efficient and safe maintenance operations at the home base and the outstations. 20) Prepare maintenance SMS training material. 21) Assist and train maintenance staff on Flynas SMS. 22) Responsible for monitoring and analyzing safe working practice related to maintenance operations. 23) Perform any other task (s) as assigned by the VP Safety & Quality. Qualification & Requirements: 1) Has an Engineering / Maintenance background for 03 years at least. 2) Educated to a minimum of bachelor's degree level in a related field 3) Any other certificate related to aviation safety 4) Professionally qualified/certified in the field of maintenance operations 5) PC Literate and well versed in MS Office Suite / Google office applications 6) Effective written and verbal communication skills in English, Arabic would be an advantage Show more Show less
