Flight Operations Safety Specialist Date: 6 Aug 2026 Flight Operations Safety Specialist Company: Flight Operations Job Purpose Responsible for interpreting Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) and operational safety data to identify hazards, assess operational risks, and support proactive safety management across the Air Arabia Group. Provides operational expertise for safety investigations, risk assessments, crew engagement, and safety promotion activities, ensuring effective risk mitigation and continuous enhancement of flight safety and operational performance. Key Result Responsibilities Serve as the Flight Operations interpreter within the Air Arabia Group Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) Program by providing accurate operational interpretation of FDM exceedances, trends, SOP application, aircraft handling characteristics, and operational context. Conduct proactive monitoring and analysis of FDM and other safety data to identify operational trends, recurring exceedances, emerging threats, operational hazards, and associated safety risks. Perform operational risk assessments, evaluate the effectiveness of existing risk controls and mitigation measures, monitor implemented safety actions, and recommend additional mitigations where required. Carry out timely review, assessment, follow-up, and closure of safety reports submitted by flight crew in accordance with proactive safety management principles and Just Culture requirements, determining their operational significance and safety implications. Key Result Responsibilities - Continued Develop safety recommendations to address identified risks and prevent recurrence of safety events. Lead and participate in crew engagement activities and crew debriefing sessions to gather operational insights, reinforce safety culture, and close the feedback loop on safety findings. Actively participate in Air Arabia safety promotion activities, including drafting safety publications and planning Safety Walk & Talk sessions. Support Safety Risk Assessments (SRA) and Management of Change (MOC) activities by identifying operational hazards and emerging risks. Qualifications (Academic, training, languages) Commercial airline pilot with extensive knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), operational procedures, Airbus aircraft systems, aircraft handling characteristics, and flight operations. Good Knowledge of ICAO Annex 19 Safety Management principles. Strong understanding of GCAA CAR SMS and CAR AIR OPS requirements. Good knowledge of Flight Data Monitoring (FDM/FOQA) principles. Understanding of Human Factors and Threat & Error Management. Knowledge of operational risk assessment methodologies. Excellent operational judgement. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to conduct crew interviews and operational debriefings. Strong attention to detail and accuracy and report writing Ability to analyze large volumes of operational safety data. Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills. High level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality. Proactive safety mindset aligned with Just Culture principles. Fluent in English and any other languages required. Work Experience With a minimum of 5+ years of commercial airline flight operations experience. Strong familiarity with the route network, aerodromes, and operating environment. Previous experience as a Training Captain, TRI/TRE, or in-Flight Safety, Flight Data Monitoring (FDM), Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA), or related aviation safety functions is an advantage.
