Head Technical Manager - Office-Based - Construction

🏗️ HIRING: HEAD TECHNICAL MANAGER – CONSTRUCTION 📍 Location: Dubai, UAE 🏢 Industry: Construction / Main Contracting 💼 Work Type: Full-Time | Office-Based We are looking for an experienced Head Technical Manager to lead the technical function for a well-established contracting company in Dubai. This is a senior office-based position responsible for managing technical activities across multiple construction projects, coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, and ensuring projects are technically compliant, buildable, and delivered efficiently. 🔹 Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage the Technical Department across multiple projects. • Coordinate Architectural, Structural, Civil, MEP and other engineering disciplines. • Review and approve IFC drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements and RFIs. • Lead technical coordination with consultants, clients, subcontractors and suppliers. • Identify and resolve technical issues before they impact construction, cost or schedule. • Ensure compliance with UAE building codes, authority requirements, project specifications and contracts. • Review design changes, technical proposals and value engineering opportunities. • Support project teams with constructability reviews and technical solutions. • Establish technical procedures, workflows and documentation standards. • Monitor technical submissions, approvals and design deliverables across projects. • Lead, mentor and develop technical engineers, coordinators, architects and draftsmen. • Provide technical reports, recommendations and updates to senior management. • Participate in tender reviews and provide technical input during pre-construction and planning stages. 🔹 Requirements ✅ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Structural Engineering or related field. ✅ 12–18+ years of experience in construction / main contracting. ✅ Strong UAE construction experience is highly preferred. ✅ Proven experience in a Technical Manager / Head of Technical / Technical Director position. ✅ Strong experience with building construction projects, preferably high-rise, residential, commercial or mixed-use developments. ✅ Excellent knowledge of IFC drawings, shop drawings, RFIs, material submittals and technical documentation. ✅ Strong understanding of UAE codes, regulations and authority approval processes. ✅ Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary technical teams. ✅ Strong consultant, client and subcontractor coordination skills. ✅ Experience with BIM / Revit / AutoCAD is an advantage. ✅ Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
