Department: Procurement Reports To: QS Manager / Procurement Manager Location: Abu Dhabi / Liwa, UAE (On-site) Employment Type: Contract - September to Jan 2027 Salary: AED 8,000 per month Deployment: On-site from September through end of January Accommodation: Provided on site during the Liwa deployment About the role JAM People is recruiting a QS Coordinator on behalf of a leading UAE event production company, for a major large-scale event project based in Liwa, Abu Dhabi. Job Purpose Supporting the QS Manager, the QS Coordinator carries out on-site measurement and quantity verification of event-related works delivered by suppliers against approved BOQs, and maintains accurate records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Key Duties & Responsibilities - Assist in reviewing and interpreting approved BOQs, drawings and technical specifications. - Carry out on-site measurement and record delivered quantities of event-related works. - Conduct site inspections during build-up, live event operations and dismantling. - Prepare measurement sheets, quantity records and verification reports for the QS Manager's review. - Check delivered quantities against approved BOQs and flag discrepancies. - Record and track fabrication, branding, flooring, fencing, temporary structures, rentals and installations delivered to site. - Support inspection of workmanship, finishes and compliance with approved specifications. - Maintain organised documentation, photographic records and site logs. - Assist in investigating and resolving quantity and quality discrepancies with suppliers. - Support the QS Manager in supplier reconciliations, invoice checks and payment validation. - Raise discrepancy reports and escalate issues to the QS Manager. - Provide reporting support to the Procurement team throughout all project phases. Qualifications & Experience - Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction or a related discipline. - 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably within events, exhibitions, fit-out, construction or large-scale temporary structures. - Practical experience in site measurement, quantity take-off and BOQ-based verification. - Proficiency in MS Excel; AutoCAD or measurement software an advantage. Core Competencies - Working knowledge of quantity surveying principles. - Ability to read and interpret BOQs, drawings and specifications. - Strong measurement and record-keeping accuracy, with excellent attention to detail. - Good reporting and documentation skills. - Clear communication with suppliers and site teams. - Reliability and trustworthiness - this role is among the first on site. - Ability to work under pressure and extended hours during build-up and live operations. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - Accuracy of recorded and submitted quantities. - Timely completion of site measurements and records. - Quality and completeness of verification documentation. - Prompt reporting of discrepancies. - Compliance with approved BOQs and specifications. Working Conditions - Primarily based in Abu Dhabi / Liwa, with occasional requirements to work from the Dubai office. - Frequent presence on event sites, supplier facilities and warehouses. - Extended working hours may be required during build-up, live operations and dismantling. - During the early stages of the project, deployment may typically be from Monday to Thursday, depending on the project schedule. - During the live event period, the candidate will generally receive one day off per week. - On-site shared accommodation (own room) will be provided during the Liwa deployment.
