Job Description

JOB PURPOSE: The Regional Technical Sales Manager – MEA is responsible for driving Harris Pye's commercial growth across Middle East & Africa by identifying new business opportunities, expanding the company's presence within the Marine, Offshore, Oil & Gas and Energy sectors, and building long-term strategic relationships with clients and partners. Reporting directly to the Chief Corporate Development Officer, the role plays a key part in executing the regional growth strategy, opening new markets, and securing high-value business opportunities. The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with outstanding commercial capabilities and an established network across key African offshore markets. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Technical • Understand and explain technical details of Harris Pye’s services and products, including modifications, repairs, and engineering solutions. • Act as a technical advisor during client meetings, proposals, and negotiations. • Collaborate with engineering teams to prepare customized technical solutions based on client specifications. • Conduct client visits, technical presentations and site assessments across the assigned territories. • Support in the preparation and review of technical documentation for bids and proposals. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and technologies. • Assist in identifying new service offerings based on client and market feedback. • Monitor and report on market trends and competitor activity. Commercial & Managerial • Develop and execute the regional commercial strategy across Middle East & Africa. • Build and strengthen relationships with senior stakeholders, EPC contractors, shipowners, operators, strategic partners and government entities across the region. • Prepare and present commercial proposals, ensuring alignment with technical capabilities. • Meet defined sales targets and KPIs while ensuring client satisfaction. • Represent the company at exhibitions, trade shows, and client meetings. • Maintain accurate sales pipeline and forecast through CRM tools. • Build long-term relationships with senior decision-makers. • Regularly travel across the region to develop new business opportunities. • Collaborate with senior leadership on regional growth plans. Taking ownership of organization's QHSE policy • Accountable to create a safe working environment, managing risks and reducing exposure to hazards to levels practically achievable and ensuring implementation of QHSE Policy. • Comply with all IMS Procedures, QA/QC standards as applicable to deliver works safely maintain highest standards of quality with minimal environmental impacts. • Wear appropriate safety or protective equipment as identified required through risk assessments or as specified, at all times. • Contribute to the enhancement of quality, health, safety and environment within the organization. In addition to the above, all supervisors and managers have a duty of care to ensure that a safe place of work is maintained and that appropriate welfare facilities are provided. Also, to ensure that all hazardous situations and possible hazardous conditions are identified and avoided. Workers must be briefed on the hazards likely to be presented, with the knowledge that the risks have been calculated, and must be informed of the controls required to mitigate those risks. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS Minimum Qualification: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marine studies, or a related discipline. • Proven experience managing and directing teams across various functions. • Proficiency in technical documentation and proposal writing. • Strong computer literacy (MS Office, CRM platforms). • Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus. Minimum Experience: • 10–12 years of experience within the Marine, Offshore, Oil & Gas or Energy sectors. • Minimum 5 years of experience in Technical Sales, Business Development or Commercial Management. • Proven experience developing business across Africa. • Existing commercial network across key offshore African markets such as Nigeria, Ghana and Angola is essential. • Proven track record of delivering sustainable revenue growth. • Experience working across multicultural and geographically dispersed regions. Leadership & General Skills: • Strong leadership and client-facing communication skills. • Proven ability to manage priorities, deadlines, and customer expectations effectively. • Strong commercial acumen with sound decision-making capabilities. • Self-motivated and proactive in problem-solving. • Culturally aware with the ability to work collaboratively within diverse teams. • Demonstrates a high degree of integrity, professionalism, and accountability. Technical Skills: • Deep understanding of Harris Pye’s service portfolio, including design, repairs, retrofits, and engineering solutions. • Ability to translate client requirements into tailored technical and commercial proposals. • Ability to develop commercial strategies for emerging markets. • Familiarity with heat transfer systems and equipment. • Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
