Position Summary Our client is seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer – Electrical & Mechanical (MEP) to join their project team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in high-rise building construction with a strong background in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing quality assurance and quality control procedures, ensuring all MEP works comply with project specifications, approved drawings, international standards, and local authority regulations. The role requires close coordination with consultants, subcontractors, project teams, and clients to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance & Quality Control • Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures in accordance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS). • Conduct routine inspections of electrical and mechanical installations to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards. • Monitor site activities to ensure all MEP works are executed in accordance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Method Statements. • Coordinate and submit Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) with consultants. • Verify that all materials delivered to site comply with approved material submittals and project requirements. • Ensure subcontractors follow approved quality procedures and maintain complete inspection records. Inspection & Testing • Carry out inspections for mechanical and electrical systems including: • HVAC Systems • Chilled Water & Plumbing Systems • Fire Fighting & Fire Alarm Systems • Low Voltage (LV) Systems • Lighting & Power Distribution • ELV Systems • BMS Integration • Witness testing and commissioning activities for all MEP systems. • Ensure all testing documentation is completed, reviewed, and approved. Documentation & Compliance • Prepare and maintain quality documentation including: • Inspection Reports • WIRs & MIRs • Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) • Corrective Action Reports (CARs) • Quality Checklists • Material Approval Records • Review shop drawings, technical submittals, and material approvals before installation. • Maintain quality records for project handover and final documentation. Non-Conformance Management • Identify quality issues and non-conformities during construction. • Raise NCRs where necessary and monitor corrective and preventive actions until closure. • Conduct root cause analysis and recommend improvements to prevent recurrence. • Follow up on punch list items and ensure timely closure. Coordination • Coordinate with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, site engineers, and commissioning teams to resolve quality-related issues. • Participate in quality meetings and provide regular QA/QC progress reports. • Support project teams during consultant inspections and authority approvals. Handover & Commissioning • Assist in preparing testing and commissioning documentation. • Support snagging, de-snagging, and final project handover. • Ensure all QA/QC documentation is completed and submitted prior to project completion. Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. • QA/QC certifications such as ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor are an advantage. • Additional certifications related to quality management or MEP systems are preferred. Non-Conformance Management: identify quality issues, raise NCRs, monitor corrective actions, conduct root cause analysis, and follow up on punch list items. Coordination: liaise with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, site engineers, and commissioning teams; participate in quality meetings and provide progress reports; support consultant inspections and authority approvals. Handover & Commissioning: assist in preparing testing and commissioning documentation; support snagging, de-snagging, and final project handover; ensure QA/QC documentation is completed and submitted prior to project completion.
