Mechanical Engineer - Site (MEP Supervision)

For more information, visit www.sdvce.com. Summary: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering Consultancy team for projects in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and inspecting HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and associated mechanical works for building projects, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, authority regulations, and QA/QC requirements. Key Responsibilities: • Supervise and inspect the installation of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire fighting, and associated mechanical systems in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable codes. • Review shop drawings, Material Submittals, Method Statements, Inspection Requests, and other Technical Submissions from the contractor. • Monitor site activities to ensure quality workmanship, compliance with project requirements, and adherence to approved construction methodologies. • Witness inspections, testing, and commissioning activities, and verify that all systems perform in accordance with project specifications. • Review contractors' daily reports, progress reports, and QA/QC documentation. • Identify non-conforming works, issue site observations, and follow up on corrective actions until satisfactory closure. • Coordinate with the Project team, Contractors, and relevant authorities to resolve technical and construction-related issues. • Verify that approved materials are used and ensure all installations comply with local authority requirements and project specifications. • Prepare site inspection reports and provide regular progress updates to the Resident Engineer. • Perform any other duties assigned by the Resident Engineer in support of project execution. Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Minimum 7 years of UAE experience in MEP construction/site supervision, and minimum 3 years of Engineering Consultancy experience is required. • Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, Firefighting systems, and relevant UAE codes and standards. • Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, inspection processes, testing & commissioning, and authority requirements. • Excellent communication, coordination, and technical reporting skills. • Must hold valid UAE Driving License.
