Department: Projects – Mechanical (MEP) About the Role The Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and completing all mechanical works on construction projects. The role ensures that HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, Fire Fighting, LPG, and associated MEP systems are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and client requirements. Responsibilities • Plan, supervise, and coordinate all mechanical works at project sites. • Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documents before execution. • Prepare work schedules and monitor project progress to meet contractual milestones. • Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments. • Manage site engineers, foremen, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure efficient execution. • Ensure installation of HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, Fire Fighting, LPG, and other mechanical systems complies with approved drawings and specifications. • Monitor manpower, material, equipment, and resource utilization to achieve productivity targets. • Coordinate procurement activities and ensure timely delivery of materials. • Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues during project execution. • Prepare RFIs, MIRs, Method Statements, ITPs, and other project documentation. • Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspections, and authority approvals. • Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures, HSE requirements, and company standards. • Review and certify subcontractor work and progress claims. • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management. • Identify project risks and implement corrective actions to avoid delays. • Support project close-out activities, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and final handover documentation. Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. • UAE driving license is preferred. Required Skills • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, Primavera/MS Project, and MEP project management software. • Strong knowledge of local authority regulations and international standards. • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical MEP systems. • Excellent project planning and execution skills. • Strong leadership and team management abilities. • Effective communication and stakeholder management. • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. • Sound knowledge of UAE construction practices, authority regulations, and international codes. • Ability to manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines. Preferred Skills • MEP Contracting / Building Construction (High-Rise Residential, Commercial, Mixed-Use Developments, and Villas). Pay range and compensation package Minimum 10 years of experience in MEP contracting, with proven experience in high-rise buildings and villa construction projects in the UAE/GCC.
