Job Title: Lead Engineer Job Requisition Type: Regular Job Function: Engineer Career Level: Senior Posting Start Date: 10/11/26 Job Description: JOB SCOPE Ensure the refinery engineering needs are provided with the accurate and quick real-time engineering solutions. Respond to any operational abnormalities and provide required engineering support and comply with Yasref strategies and operational priorities. Ensure timely engineering solutions are provided to minimize downtime and maximise productivity. Develop engineering strategies to reduce costs, increase asset efficiency and improve productivity. Must have hands-on experience in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of critical refinery machinery. The successful candidate will act as the subject matter expert (SME) for all rotating assets, advanced diagnostics, vibration analysis , and root cause analysis (RCA) to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and ensure safe refinery operations. COMMUNICATION Internal : Report and refer on a regular basis with hierarchy. Implement pertinent policies, exchange information, discuss and know relevant KPIs/performance parameters. Provide service to other organizations. External: NA. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (1/2) Develop engineering strategies to reduce costs, increase asset efficiency and improve productivity. Focus on continuous improvement to increase plant operational efficiency by reducing waste, improving the cycle time, and optimizing the use of plant assets and equipment’s. Design and develop engineering solutions to optimize plant assets and to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity. Provide timely contribution for engineering projects, including new installations, upgrades and expansions. Coordinate with various stake holders and ensure engineering solutions are provided for successful project completion. Deliver engineering solutions to maintain the plant assets throughout their life cycle. Provide technical support to OME teams during plant maintenance/shutdown or in order to resolve any technical issue related to engineering. Conduct evaluation and prepare the design modifications as approved by the change of management system or project management team. Prepare Design Packages for In-house modifications and MOCs and carry out all the supporting design calculations. Make frequent plant visits and discuss operational issues with respective OME teams with purpose of resolving, upgrading, maintaining, and improving the equipment performance as required. Participate and contribute in troubleshooting meetings to attend the equipment failures, system failures and other process abnormalities. Discuss abnormalities with technicians, engineers and reliability engineers and operations shift. Conduct research on equipment’s, processes and systems to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues and abnormalities. Regularly evaluate work, processes and outcomes to identify areas for improvement. Conduct investigation on equipment failures, system failures and identify the root causes and provide sound recommendations to prevent future failure or incidents. Participate in Root Cause Analysis on plant assets malfunction and provide feedback to prepare reports. Regularly update the knowledge of industry best practices, document lessons learned. identify emerging technologies, regularly read industry publications and participate in professional development activities. Participate in various Plant Acceptance Tests and validate modifications or addition of equipment’s and systems. Asses and manage risks associated with plant assets, and evaluate potential system failures. Implement protocols, conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards. Lead and execute complex maintenance, repair, and major overhauls of critical rotating equipment (e.g., centrifugal/reciprocating compressors, multi-stage pumps, steam turbines, FD/ID fans and blowers). Utilize advanced analytical skills to troubleshoot chronic machinery issues and lead formal Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations to prevent recurrence. Oversee the refinery’s vibration monitoring and machinery diagnostic programs to predict failures and optimize maintenance schedules. Provide high-level engineering and technical support to operations and maintenance teams during routine operations, turnarounds (TA), and emergency breakdowns. Ensure all repair procedures and equipment modifications comply with international standards (API, ASME, ISO) and internal safety regulations.
