The Land Surveyor will be responsible for carrying out all surveying, setting-out, and measurement activities associated with stormwater and microtunneling works. The role involves ensuring the accurate establishment of horizontal and vertical alignments, coordinates, levels, and benchmarks for pipelines, shafts, tunnels, manholes, chambers, and related infrastructure. The Land Surveyor shall ensure that all survey activities are performed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality requirements, and Dubai Municipality (DM) standards while supporting the successful delivery of complex underground utility and drainage projects. The Land Surveyor will be responsible for performing precise surveying and setting-out activities for stormwater and microtunneling works, including shafts, tunnels, pipelines, chambers, and related structures. The role ensures that all construction alignments, levels, and coordinates are established accurately and in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, and RTA/DM standards. Perform topographic, control, and setting-out surveys for stormwater and microtunneling works, including pipelines, shafts, manholes, and associated civil structures. Establish, verify, and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference grids in coordination with the contractor’s survey team. Review and apply approved IFC drawings, alignment data, and coordinate systems in compliance with RTA and project requirements. Check and verify horizontal and vertical alignments, pipe inverts, tunnel drives, and shaft locations prior to and during construction. Ensure that all setting-out activities are carried out in accordance with approved method statements and calibration procedures. Conduct as-built surveys and verify the accuracy of contractors’ as-built drawings prior to submission. Monitor microtunneling drive alignments and breakthrough coordinates, ensuring compliance with allowable tolerances. Maintain up-to-date survey records, field books, and digital data files, ensuring full traceability of survey operations. Coordinate with the contractor and supervision team to resolve survey discrepancies or deviations on-site. Verify and certify survey results for measurement sheets, interim payments, and progress verification. Participate in pre-construction and progress meetings to provide input on survey status, site constraints, and required actions. Ensure full compliance with HSE standards during all field operations, particularly in confined-space and shaft areas. Calibrate and maintain survey instruments (total stations, GPS, digital levels) in accordance with project QA/QC procedures. Provide support during testing, commissioning, and handover stages by verifying final levels and coordinates.
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Geomatics Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized institution. Minimum 7 years of overall surveying experience , with at least 3 years of experience on stormwater, sewerage, utility, microtunneling, or underground infrastructure projects . Proven experience in setting-out and as-built surveys for pipelines, shafts, tunnels, manholes, chambers, and associated civil works. Proficient in the use of Total Stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, Digital Levels, and related surveying software. Familiarity with Dubai Municipality requirements, local coordinate systems, and infrastructure construction practices. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, survey data, alignment drawings, and IFC documents. Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, survey tolerances, and survey control methodologies. Good communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders. Valid UAE driving license is preferred.
